Mathematical modelling and experimental study of straw co-firing with gas

The main goal of the present study is to promote a more effective use of agriculture residues (straw) as an alternative renewable fuel for cleaner energy production with reduced greenhouse gas emissions. With the aim to improve the main combustion characteristics at thermo-chemical conversion of wheat straw, complex experimental study and mathematical modelling of the processes developing when co-firing wheat straw pellets with a gaseous fuel were carried out. A physical description of fractional-order Fourier diffusion

2014

In this paper the authors introduce a physical picture of anomalous heat transfer in rigid conductor. The analysis shows that a fractional-order Fourier transport is obtained by the analysis of the heat transport in a functionally graded conductor. The order of the fractional-type operator obtained is related to the grading of the physical properties of the conductor.

Modelling of Pe C alloys solidification using the artificial heat source method

Abstract In the paper the numerical solutions concerning the cast iron and also the carbon steel solidification are presented. In order to take into account the non-linearities appearing in differential equations describing the boundary-initial problem considered — a certain algorithm called the artificial heat source method has been used. The examples illustrating the possibilities of proposed method applications have been solved by means of the boundary element method, but the others numerical methods can be also utilized.
