Numerical and experimental study of hydrostatic displacement machine

This paper presents a simulation tool to determine the structural deflections and corresponding leakage flow in a hydrostatic displacement motor. The simulation tool is applied to a new motor principle that is categorized as an extreme low-speed high-torque motor with dimensions that calls for attention to the volumetric efficiency. To counteract structural deflections the motor is equipped with compensation pressure volumes that may be used to limit the leakage flow across the end faces of the circular rotor. The Economic Impact of the South-North Water Transfer Project in China: A Computable General Equilibrium Analysis

Water resources are unevenly spread in China. Especially the basins of the Yellow, Hui and Hai rivers in the North are rather dry. To increase the supply of water in these basins, the South-to-North Water Transfer project (SNWT) was launched. Using a computable general equilibrium model this study estimates the impact of the project on the economy of China and the rest of the world. We contrast three alternative groups of scenarios. Fast relaxation phenomena and slow mode in extended thermodynamics of superfluids

A macroscopic monofluid model of liquid helium II which is based on extended thermodynamics was formulated in previous works, both in the presence and in the absence of dissipative phenomena. In all these studies, the time evolution of the nonequilibrium stress tensor was neglected, putting the relaxation times @t"0 and @t"2 of the nonequilibrium pressure and of the stress deviator equal to zero. Convergence of inertial prox-penalization and inertial forward-backward algorithms for solving bilevel monotone equilibrium problems

The main focus of this paper is on bilevel optimization on Hilbert spaces involving two monotone equilibrium bifunctions. We present a new achievement consisting on the introduction of inertial methods for solving this type of problems. Electronic transport in molecular junctions : The generalized Kadanoff–Baym ansatz with initial contact and correlations

The generalized Kadanoff-Baym ansatz (GKBA) offers a computationally inexpensive approach to simulate out-of-equilibrium quantum systems within the framework of nonequilibrium Green's functions. For finite systems the limitation of neglecting initial correlations in the conventional GKBA approach has recently been overcome [Phys. Rev. B 98, 115148 (2018)]. However, in the context of quantum transport the contacted nature of the initial state, i.e., a junction connected to bulk leads, requires a further extension of the GKBA approach. Transport coefficients in desalting processes by electrodialysis

Abstract In this work a thermodynamic analysis on the transport equations in the processes of electrodiffusion (EF) and electrodialysis (ED) has been developed. The transport equations are classified in two sets according to the information they contain: i ) fundamental and ii ) complementary. We determine that there are four fundamental transport coefficients needed to characterize these membrane systems. We also conclude that this number is not reduced to three when the Onsager reciprocal relation (ORR) is assumed.
