Fyysisen aktiivisuuden yhteys kaverisuhdeongelmiin ja prososiaaliseen käyttäytymiseen yläasteikäisillä nuorilla
2017
Hautala, Harri. 2017. Fyysisen aktiivisuuden yhteys kaverisuhdeongelmiin ja prososiaaliseen käyttäytymiseen yläasteikäisillä nuorilla. Erityispedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielma. Jyväskylän yliopisto. Kasvatustieteiden laitos.

Johdanto. Tyypin 1 diabetesta sairastavilla valtimosairauksien riski on huomattavasti kohonnut verrattuna henkilöihin, joilla ei ole diabetesta. Fyysisen aktiivisuuden on osoitettu olevan yhteydessä matalampaan sydän- ja verisuonisairauksien riskiin, minkä takia fyysisen aktiivisuuden lisääminen voisi auttaa tyypin 1 diabeetikkojen sairastumisriskin hallitsemisessa. Tutkimuksen tarkoitus oli vertailla nilkka-olkavarsipainesuhdetta (ABI) ja valtimoiden jäykkyyttä CAVI-indeksillä mitattuna tyypin 1 diabetes…
Triage protocol for allocation of critical health resources during the COVID-19 health emergency. A review
2020
Background and aim of the work:Triage during the Covid-19 pandemic can impose difficult allocation deci-sions when demand for mechanical ventilation or intensive care beds greatly exceeds available resources. Tri-age criteria should be objective, ethical, transparent, applied equitably and publically disclosed. The aim of this review is to describe the triage tools and process for critical care resources in a pandemic health emergency. Methods:A narrative review was conducted of the literature on five electronic databases, namely PubMed, CINHAL, Web of Science, Cochrane and Embase, searching for studies published from 2006 to June 2020. Results:The results describe different triage tools. A…
The Misdirection as Anxiety Reduction in Children from Venipuncture Procedure: A Randomized Study
2020
The current literature show several distraction approaches to reduce anxiety in children during the painful procedure, as the venipuncture. This work explored the magician intervention effects in anxiety and in pain reduction among children who underwent the venipuncture procedure. Our results showed that the magician approach among nurses could effectively influence the children compliance who underwent a venipuncture without any particular cost for the healthcare system.
The Added Value of Remote Technology in Cardiac Rehabilitation on Physical Function, Anthropometrics, and Quality of Life: Cluster Randomized Control…
2023
Background Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) cause most deaths globally and can reduce quality of life (QoL) of rehabilitees with cardiac disease. The risk factors of CVDs are physical inactivity and increased BMI. With physical activity, it is possible to prevent CVDs, improve QoL, and help maintain a healthy body mass. Current literature shows the possibilities of digitalization and advanced technology in supporting independent self-rehabilitation. However, the interpretation of the results is complicated owing to the studies’ high heterogeneity. In addition, the added value of this technology has not been studied well, especially in cardiac rehabilitation. Objective We aimed to examine the…
Menopausal symptoms and cardiometabolic risk factors in middle-aged women : A cross-sectional and longitudinal study with 4-year follow-up
2023
Objective To study associations of menopausal symptoms with cardiometabolic risk factors. Study design A cross-sectional and longitudinal study of a representative population sample of 1393 women aged 47–55 years with a sub-sample of 298 followed for four years. The numbers of vasomotor, psychological, somatic or pain, and urogenital menopausal symptoms were ascertained at baseline through self-report. Their associations with cardiometabolic risk factors were studied using linear regression and linear mixed-effect models. Models were adjusted for age, menopausal status, body mass index, the use of hormonal preparations, education, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Main outcome measures Card…
Engineering of charge, biotin-binding and oligomerization of avidin : new tools for avidin-biotin technology
2002
Avidin is a tetrameric glycoprotein found in chicken egg white. Due to its remarkably high affinity for biotin, avidin has widely been used in biological and biotechnical applications in life sciences. Avidin is also a highly stable protein, maintaining its functional tetrameric structure at high temperatures, extremes of pH, and in the presence of strong denaturants. In the present study we wanted to find out whether different properties of avidin can be modified with protein engineering using rational design. We used the 3D-structure of avidin together with sequence information from various avidin-like proteins to plan these changes. Besides shedding more light on the protein chemical bas…

On displacement-velocity coupling and the origin of in-plane stress in orthotropic moving continua
2014
In this paper, we address the problem of the origin of in-plane stresses in continuous, two-dimensional high-speed webs. In the case of thin, slender webs, a typical modeling approach is the application of a stationary in-plane model, without considering the effects of in-plane velocity field. However, for high-speed webs this approach is insufficient, because it neglects the coupling between the total material velocity and the deformation experienced by the material. By using a mixed Lagrange–Euler approach in model derivation, the solid continuum problem can be transformed to solid a continuum flow problem. Mass conservation in the flow problem, and the behaviour of free edges in the two-dime…
