Tässä tutkimuksessa olen tarkastellut sitä, millaisia identiteettejä humanisteille rakentuu kahdessa www.suomi24.fi-verkkosivuston keskustelufoorumin keskusteluketjussa. Aihe on yhä ajankohtainen ja merkittävä, sillä vuoden 2010 yliopistolakiuudistus ja vuoden 2008 lama eivät mielestäni voi olla vaikuttamatta siihen, miten humanistit kokevat merkityksensä akateemisessa ympäristössä tai työmarkkinoilla. Tutkimukseni on kriittistä diskurssintutkimusta, jonka mukaan kieli, sosiaalinen maailma ja sen valtarakenteet ovat tiukasti sidoksissa toisiinsa. Spontaneous Epileptic Manifestations in a DCX Knockdown Model of Human Double Cortex

Previous reports indicate that in utero knockdown of doublecortin (DCX) results in the genesis of a subcortical heterotopia reminiscent of the doublecortex observed in female patients with DCX mutations. It has also been shown that these rats display an increased susceptibility to convulsant agents and increased cortical neurons excitability; but it is presently unknown whether they display spontaneous seizures. Furthermore, the link between the size of heterotopia and the clinical manifestation remained to be elucidated. Using video--electrocorticogram recordings, we now report that DCX knockdown induces frequent spontaneous seizures commonly associated with myoclonic jerks in adult rats. …

Tämä kandidaatin tutkielma perehtyy sisällönhallintajärjestelmiin. Ne ovat ohjemistojärjestelmiä, joiden avulla käyttäjän on mahdollista luoda, muokata ja julkaista sisältöä esimerkiksi verkkosivustoilla. WordPress, Joomla! ja Drupal ovat kolme maailmanlaajuisesti tunnettua sisällönhallintajärjestelmää. Niiden avulla käyttäjä voi hallita omaa verkkosisältöään ilman teknistä osaamista. Dynamic representation of functional brain networks involved in the sequence analysis of functional connectivity graphs of the brain (FCGB) gains advances in uncovering evolved interaction mechanisms. However, most of the networks, even the event-related ones, are highly heterogeneous due to spurious interactions, which bring challenges to revealing the change patterns of interactive information in the complex dynamic process. Ascidians represent an intriguing candidate experimental system for studying the effects of environmental stress. We studied TBT effects and probable related pathways were investigated on ascidian embryos by using Western immunoblotting. Among the various signal transduction pathways involved in response to environmental stress, both tyrosine kinase signalling and MAPKs have been played a significant role. We studied the effects of various TBT concentrations by assaying the activity of ERK 1/2 (p44/42) and phospho-ERK1/2 (phospho-p44/42), proteins with a key role in ascidian development, and tyrosine kinase-dependent pathway. The effects of this xenobiotic and the role of some signalling mechanisms on ascidian embryos were examined by using Western immunoblotting. The present thesis aimed to explore the methodological advantages as well as limitations in applying different modelling approaches to predict water soil erosion in Mediterranean environments. The research was accomplished in the central northern part of Sicily (Italy), considering this region to be representative of Mediterranean environmental conditions.
