B–T phase diagram of Pd/Fe/Ir(111) computed with parallel tempering Monte Carlo

We use an atomistic spin model derived from density functional theory calculations for the ultra-thin film Pd/Fe/Ir(111) to show that temperature induces coexisting non-zero skyrmion and antiskyrmion densities. We apply the parallel tempering Monte Carlo method in order to reliably compute thermodynamical quantities and the B-T phase diagram in the presence of frustrated exchange interactions. We evaluate the critical temperatures using the topological susceptibility. We show that the critical temperatures depend on the magnetic field in contrast to previous work. The thermal response test (TRT) is the standard method for characterizing the thermal properties of the ground and those of a borehole heat exchanger (BHE). During the TRT, the inlet and outlet temperatures of the BHE are monitored. However, this test typically considers the ground as a homogeneous, isotropic, and infinite media, and therefore, it only determines the bulk and effective parameters, such as effective thermal conductivity and thermal borehole resistance. Most often, in bioseparations involving charged macromolecules, the chromatographic systems have low Reynolds and high Peclet numbers. For such systems, an expression is developed and presented in this work for evaluating the throughput in polymeric monoliths where ion-exchange adsorption occurs, as a function of (i) the pressure drop along the length of the monolith, (ii) the functional form and width of the throughpore-size distribution of the monolith, and (iii) the magnitude of the zeta potential on the surface of the throughpores of the monolith. The existing 130 volumes reflect the change in the orthopedic spectrum of illness, diagnostic investigation and treatment. Zbadano kinetykę procesu sorpcji kationów miedzi w glonach Spirogyra sp. oraz towarzyszące mu procesy sorpcji kationów wodorowych i procesy uwalniania do roztworu kationów związanych w glonach: Na+, Mg2+, K+ i Ca2+. Stwierdzono, że w układzie statycznym, przy stałym stosunku masy glonów do objętości roztworu, procesy te zachodzą równocześnie, przy czym należy przypuszczać, że ilość uwalnianych soli ma wpływ na parametry heterofazowej równowagi wymiany jonowej. Determination of glyphosate in water samples with the combination of cation-exchange chromatography and capillary electrophoresis

An analytical method for determination of pesticide Glyphosate in water as a combination of cation-exchange chromatography and capillary electrophoresis is presented. Pure water was spiked with Glyphosate at concentrations 0.1, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mM and percolated through a strong cation-exchange column packed with Dowex 50WX4-400 resin in its H+ form. The extract was further analyzed by capillary electrophoresis in indirect detection mode. The calibration curve for the pesticide in the range 0.1–2.5 mM was linear and with high degree of reproducibility. The obtained recoveries for all the studied concentrations amount 85%. L'article fait le point sur les enceintes néolithiques identifiées dans les départements bourguignons, principalement Yonne et Côte d'Or. On dénombre ainsi environ 180 sites aménagés défensivement. En plaine, les enceintes privilégient l'installation le long des cours d'eau principaux (Yonne, Armançon, Serein, cours amont de la Saône), à la confluence avec un ru de moindre importance dont le bassin versant s'ouvre sur un "arrière pays" qui offre des opportunités d'échanges. Ainsi s'esquisse un modèle d'occupation du territoire qui débute avec le Cerny et qui évolue jusqu'au Néolithique récent.
Modeling and Mitigating Errors in Belief Propagation for Distributed Detection

We study the behavior of the belief-propagation (BP) algorithm affected by erroneous data exchange in a wireless sensor network (WSN). The WSN conducts a distributed multidimensional hypothesis test over binary random variables. The joint statistical behavior of the sensor observations is modeled by a Markov random field whose parameters are used to build the BP messages exchanged between the sensing nodes. Through linearization of the BP message-update rule, we analyze the behavior of the resulting erroneous decision variables and derive closed-form relationships that describe the impact of stochastic errors on the performance of the BP algorithm.
