Experience in the long term use of new antiarrhythmic drugs.
1985
Meinertz et a1. (1984) investigated the long term efficacy and tolerability of flecainide in patients with ventricular arrhythmias. 15 patients were studied, 8 women and 7 men, aged 19 to 74 (mean 58.7) years, with more than 30 ventricular premature complexes (VPCs) per hour, and ventricular arrhythmias of Lown grade IVA or IVB. 11 had coronary artery disease and 2 had idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. Patients were excluded on the basis of sustained ventricular tachycardia (VT) [defined as ~ 3 consecutive beats at a rate of> 100 beats/min]; myocardial infarction within the last 6 months; unstable angina; severe congestive heart failure; or conduction abnormalities. Self Cartography : migration process and narrative of the psychological suffering of people in a migration situation
2022

By combining the life story and the geographical map, this device is a response to the clinical challenges imposed by current global migratory movements.

Fugitives in transit. The Spanish Republican exile through Portugal (1936-1950)
2017
Despite scant attention from historiography, Portugal played an important role as a way station on the road to exile for many Republicans during and after the Spanish Civil War. The situation in the neighbouring country was not easy for these people, as Antonio Oliveira de Salazar’s regime —officially allied with Franco’s Spain— did not recognize them as political refugees, but as illegal immigrants to be returned to Spain, which would have catastrophic consequences for many of them. Through the analysis of abundant primary sources in archives from Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the United States, we seek to understand the details of this Portuguese stage of the exile. We discover how, despite…
