Detailed spectroscopy of the neutron-deficient bismuth isotopes ¹⁹³,¹⁹⁵Bi

Two experiments aiming to study the shape coexistence and competing structures in 193Bi and 195Bi isotopes have been performed at the Accelerator laboratory of the University of Jyv askyl a, Finland (JYFL). Many new states have been found, hugely extending the previously known level schemes for both isotopes. The i13=2 bands were extended up to I = 45/2+ in both the 193;195Bi isotopes. In case of 193Bi, the I = 31/2+ member of the i13=2 band was found to de-excite also to a long-lived isomeric state. This link determines the energy of the isomeric state to be 2350(1) keV and suggests a spin and parity of 29/2+. The half-life of the isomeric state was measured to be 85(3) s. A level structur…

Research highlights the importance of emotional skills in promoting positive youth development and optimal social functioning. Therefore, education in these skills is a potential target for interventions aimed at reducing cyberbullying and promoting satisfaction with life during adolescence. The availability of experimental information on solid distribution inside stirred tanks is a topic of great importance in several industrial applications. The measurement of solid particle distribution in turbulent multiphase flow is not simple and the development of suitable measurement techniques is still in progress. In this work a novel non-intrusive technique for measuring particle concentration fields in solid-liquid systems is employed. The technique makes use of a laser sheet, a high sensitivity digital camera for image acquisition and a Matlab procedure for post-processing the acquired images. Shape optimization in contact problems based on penalization of the state inequality

The paper deals with the approximation of optimal shape of elastic bodies, unilaterally supported by a rigid, frictionless foundation. Original state inequality, describing the behaviour of such a body is replaced by a family of penalized state problems. Tematem mojego artykułu jest problem używek przedstawiony w Matce Stanisława Ignacego Witkiewicza. Nadużywanie alkoholu i narkotyków, służące złagodzeniu bólu istnienia to - w kontekście omawianego utworu - zagłuszanie metafizycznych lęków nie tylko prezentowanych w nim postaci, ale także samego autora. Na przykładzie inscenizacji Jerzego Jarockiego z Teatru Starego w Krakowie opisuję złożoność relacji postaci, które dławiąc się własnym cierpieniem, popadają w nałogi. Zarówno dramat, jak i jego teatralna konkretyzacja stanowią laboratorium udręki wzajemnego bytowania, studium destrukcyjnej siły rodzinnych związków. Tutaj wszystko może się zdarzyć i na pewno będzie na „nie".
