Engineering faster transglycosidases and their acceptor specificity

Transglycosidases are enzymes that have the potential to catalyze the synthesis of a wide range of high-value compounds starting from biomass-derived feedstocks. Improving their activity and broadening the substrate range are important goals to enable the widespread application of this family of biocatalysts. In this work, we engineered 20 mutants of the rice transglycosidase Os9BGlu31 and evaluated their catalysis in 462 reactions over 18 different substrates. This allowed us to identify mutants that expanded their substrate range and showed high activity, including W243L and W243N. Evidence suggests that the link between child maltreatment and these psychopathological outcomes may be moderated by various factors. En este trabajo abordo la cuestión de si el autoconocimiento es compatible con una individuación externista del contenido mental. En contra de algunas posiciones, considero el autoconocimiento como un logro cognitivo genuino. Aunque no es incorregible ni infalible, el autoconocimiento es directo (no inferencial), a priori (no basado en la investigación empírica), y dotado de especial autoridad y presunción de verdad. El problema consiste en saber si el autoconocimiento, así entendido, es compatible con el externismo. Mi respuesta será afirmativa. Un problema central para el externismo es su aparente incompatibilidad con el autoconocimiento (el privilegio del Cogito cartesiano). El artículo analiza críticamente la teoría del derecho de Ferrajoli resaltando la ausencia de canales de comunicación entre su paradigma constitucional y la participación política que necesariamente implica y que reconoce como base del constitucionalismo. Para ello se aborda la relación entre derecho y política desde el punto de vista interno y externo de la teoría, lo que termina por configurar una contradicción en su posición ética no cognoscitivista.

Focusing on its spatial diffusion and on its control with pesticides, this paper investigates the private strategies of wine producers and their socially optimal counterparts.
