This study investigates whether eating behavior in women with diagnosed bulimia nervosa is influenced by prior exposure to images of ideally thin models. Twenty-six participants diagnosed with bulimia nervosa (BN) and 30 normal controls (NC) were exposed to body-related and neutral TV commercials; then food that typically triggers binge eating was provided, and the amount of food eaten was measured. No significant difference for food intake between NC and BN could be found, but food intake for BN was predicted by the degree of thoughts related to eating behaviors during exposure to the thin ideal. Laparoscopic Management of External Iliac Artery Injury Using Yasargil Clamps and Intracorporeal Suture

Presented is a case report of laparoscopic repair of an external iliac artery injury using titanium Yasargil clamps and intracorporeal suture during lymphadenectomy. Yasargil clamps were introduced and placed, 1 distal and 1 proximal to the lesion. The vascular injury site was identified and repaired using intracorporeal sutures. Laparoscopic staging was completed successfully. No sign of thrombosis or vascular occlusion was detected. The patient was discharged on postoperative day 4 to receive adjuvant therapy. In the present study, we examined the extent to which the responses of teachers and mothers toward a particular child are similar in respect to their instructional support and affect, and whether child characteristics predict these responses. The data of 373 Finnish child–teacher–mother triads (178 girls, 195 boys) were analysed. Teachers and mothers reported their instructional support and affective responses toward a child in the school/homework context in Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4. A new comprehensive classification considers both fracture morphology and degree of instability. The classification system also provides recommendations for type and invasiveness of treatment. In this article, a literature review of treatment alternatives is presented and compared with our own experiences. Whereas FFP Type I lesions can be treated conservatively, FFP Types III and IV require surgical treatment.
