A class-selective immunoassay for simultaneous analysis of anilinopyrimidine fungicides using a rationally designed hapten
2017
he development of multianalyte immunoassays constitutes a main research issue in the field of bioanalytical techniques. In the present study, class-specific antibodies against the three members of the anilinopyrimidine family of fungicides (pyrimethanil, cyprodinil and mepanipyrim) were raised by using a bioconjugate of a rationally designed hapten [5-(6-methyl-2-(phenylamino)pyrimidin-4-yl)pentanoic acid]. Highly sensitive immunoassays were developed for the generic determination of these compounds, using the competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Particularly, a direct antibody-coated competitive ELISA afforded identical sensitivity for the three anilinopyrimidines, with I…

Combination of supported liquid membrane and solid-phase extraction for sample pretreatment of triazine herbicides in juice prior to capillary electr…
2002
A possibility of a combination of supported liquid membrane (SLM) and solid-phase extraction (SPE) for the determination of atrazine at microgram level in different type of fruit juices is presented. In comparison to SPE extraction from juice samples, the application of SLM-SPE enrichment provides much cleaner extracts and the possibility of lowering the limit of detection as low as 30 microg/l. However, it was also shown that by appropriate manipulation of SLM extraction conditions mainly flow-rate of donor phase and volume ratio between donor and acceptor phase, the level of detection can be further decreased to 10 microg/l. The results suggest that the application of SLM extraction prior…
A sustainable on-line CapLC method for quantifying antifouling agents like irgarol-1051 and diuron in water samples: Estimation of the carbon footpri…
2016
In this work, in-tube solid phase microextraction (in-tube SPME) coupled to capillary LC (CapLC) with diode array detection has been reported, for on-line extraction and enrichment of booster biocides (irgarol-1051 and diuron) included in Water Frame Directive 2013/39/UE (WFD). The analytical performance has been successfully demonstrated. Furthermore, in the present work, the environmental friendliness of the procedure has been quantified by means of the implementation of the carbon footprint calculation of the analytical procedure and the comparison with other methodologies previously reported. Under the optimum conditions, the method presents good linearity over the range assayed, 0.05-1…
A miniaturized method for estimating di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate in bivalves as bioindicators.
2012
This work has developed a miniaturized method based on matrix solid phase dispersion (MSPD), using C18 as dispersant and acetonitrile-water as eluting solvent, for the analysis of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) in biota samples by capillary liquid chromatography coupled to in-tube solid phase microextraction and diode array detection. Recovery studies showed that the combination of C18-Florisil® was optimal using low amount of samples (0.1 g) and with low volumes of acetonitrile-water (2.6 mL 1:3.25, v/v). The sample is processed in less than 30 min, no evaporation step is required. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of DEHP in mussels and of the coastal waters in which they…
An Optimized and Rapid DNA Extraction Method From Leaves of Grapevine Suitable for PCR-DGGE Based Analysis
2010
Molecular techniques and genetic studies require a fair amount of DNA of high quality in order to produce reliable and clear results (Li et al., 2007). In grapevine, the yield and quality of DNA can be significantly affected by secondary metabolites such as polyphenols, polysaccharides and tannins, that may be consistently abundant during the different stages of leaf development (Iandolino et al., 2004). The development of a simple, rapid and reliable method for the extraction of genomic DNA from grape leaves collected at several stages during development, as well as from healthy grape leaves and leaves infected by pathogenic microorganisms, was the main objective of this study. The protoco…
Iron isotope signature of magnetofossils and oceanic biogeochemical changes through the Middle Eocene Climatic Optimum.
2021
21 pages; International audience; Magnetotactic bacteria (MTB) intracellularly precipitate magnetite (Fe3O4) crystals that can be preserved in the geological record. When MTB die, the so-called magnetofossils constitute valuable proxies for paleoenvironmental reconstructions and are suspected to represent some of the oldest traces of biomineralization on Earth. Yet, the biogenicity of putative magnetofossils found in ancient terrestrial and extra-terrestrial samples is still largely debated and their significance for past climate still holds uncertainties. Here we studied a sedimentary sequence from the Indian Ocean (ODP Hole 711A) recording the Middle Eocene Climatic Optimum (MECO) through…

IP6K gene identification in plant genomes by tag searching
2011
Abstract Background Plants have played a special role in inositol polyphosphate (IP) research since in plant seeds was discovered the first IP, the fully phosphorylated inositol ring of phytic acid (IP6). It is now known that phytic acid is further metabolized by the IP6 Kinases (IP6Ks) to generate IP containing pyro-phosphate moiety. The IP6K are evolutionary conserved enzymes identified in several mammalian, fungi and amoebae species. Although IP6K has not yet been identified in plant chromosomes, there are many clues suggesting its presences in vegetal cells. Results In this paper we propose a new approach to search for the plant IP6K gene, that lead to the identification in plant genome…
