SummaryAir transportation missions of seriously ill or injured patients are subdivided into rescue missions and medical evacuation missions. In 1981, for rescue missions, 29 stationed rescue helicopters were available with an operation radius of 50 km. Their task consisted of securing the primary care for vital risk patients as soon as possible. Medical evacuation missions were realized by helicopter, ambulance aircraft, and airliner. This article focuses on cultural misunderstanding in care relations, starting from the analysis of the effects misunderstanding causes in the relation between doctor and migrant patient. The Western medical model tends to be based on objective data, which can be diagnosed through more and more precise and detailed techniques, but it excludes human and cultural aspects of subjectivity and relation from care. This exclusion creates distance, which increases when doctor and patient do not share a cultural homogeneity but differ for their language and the way they conceive their body, health, and disease. The decision-making-tool CAM-ICU is used and activated in many of the intensive-care units in Norwegian hospitals. Relationships between burnout and role ambiguity, role conflict and employee absenteeism among health workers

The aim of this research was to analyze the influence of some psychosocial risk factors in the development of burnout and to analyze the influence of this phenomenon on employee absenteeism. The study sample included 142 health care workers. The data analysis included descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression models. The results confirmed the influence of role ambiguity and role conflict on burnout [F (2.139) = 26.720; p < .001], but the influence of burnout on employee absenteeism was not confirmed. However, a significant and positive relationship has been shown between burnout and employee absenteeism (ß = 0.197; p < .05). In conclusion, the findings of this study support the …
