Purpose: We studied whether physical activity (PA) counseling for parents influenced the level of parental support of children’s PA and leisure-time PA in children of different levels of initial parental support. We hypothesized that the initial level of parental support would moderate the intervention efficacy. Method: Children (n = 44, Mage = 6.09 ± 1.17 years) and their parents (n = 61) randomly assigned to an intervention group received counseling for 6 months. Young women’s contradictory expectations and their perceived capabilities for future work-family reconciliation in Finland

This paper explores young women’s expectations on future work-family reconciliation in Finland, a Nordic country well-known for the promotion of gender equality. Utilising Sen’s capabilities approach, we content-analysed thirty individual interviews to identify differences in women’s expectations and their perceived capabilities in future work and care. The results showed that irrespective of their labour market status and educational attainment, the women’s expectations were contradictory, reflecting a current Finnish gender culture that embraces both the ideal of shared parenthood and the primacy of maternal care. The socio-cultural changes, which take place in a contemporary world, influence on intergenerational transfer of norms, views and creation of young generation's cultural Capital. The authońs empirical materiał, collected throughout the last 20 years, depicts chosen elements of objective socialization which, being present in a few interviewed groups of youth, specify the inner-family transfer of norms and values. The heterogeneousness of the researched groups indicates the complicated character of the described phenomenon.

Wybór ścieżki kształcenia to jedna z najważniejszych decyzji w życiu zawodowym człowieka, w wyniku której ponosi on liczne konsekwencje. Z takim wyborem borykają się uczniowie kończący szkołę podstawową. W tak młodym wieku (14‒15 lat), podjęcie właściwej decyzji wymaga dużej dojrzałości. Wielu młodych ludzi nie jest na to gotowych. Dlatego też nastolatkowie kierują się po pomoc w stronę swoich najbliższych, do których mają zaufanie i zawsze mogą liczyć na rzeczową rozmowę i radę. Młodzi ludzie mogą też otrzymać wsparcie ze strony szkolnych doradców zawodowych.
