Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activity of 2,5-bis(3′-Indolyl)pyrroles, Analogues of the Marine Alkaloid Nortopsentin

2,5-bis(3′-Indolyl)pyrroles, analogues of the marine alkaloid nortopsentin, were conveniently prepared through a three step procedure in good overall yields. Derivatives 1a and 1b exhibited concentration-dependent antitumor activity towards a panel of 42 human tumor cell lines with mean IC50 values of 1.54 μM and 0.67 μM, respectively. Investigating human tumor xenografts in an ex-vivo clonogenic assay revealed selective antitumor activity, whereas sensitive tumor models were scattered among various tumor histotypes.

United airway disease (UAD) concept proposed that asthma and rhinitis are both different clinical manifestation of a single inflammatory process. The aim of this study is to assess in upper and lower airways the level of inflammation and oxidative stress and to investigate the relationship between biomarkers in persistent allergic rhinitis (PER) and in concomitant asthma with PER. Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a metabolic disorder characterized by a cluster of cardiovascular risk factors and its prevalence remains increasing in Western world. It is associated to low-grade systemic inflammation, a key driver of premature atherosclerosis and the major cause of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Given that CXCL16/CXCR6, CX3CL1/CX3CR1 and CCL2/CCR2 axes have been implicated in the development of CVD, we investigated the role of these axes in leukocyte adhesion to the dysfunctional arterial endothelium in a MS model. Przeprowadzono badania ankietowe wśród mieszkańców wsi Kuniów w południowo-zachodniej Polsce, dotyczące pozytywnych i negatywnych aspektów budowy oraz funkcjonowania farmy wiatrowej. Ocenie poddano farmę 2 elektrowni wiatrowych o mocy 2 MW każda, z wysokością wież 110 m, długością rotorów 45 m i odległością od zabudowy 620 i 1300 m. W ocenie ankietowanych głównymi pozytywnymi aspektami rozwoju energetyki wiatrowej są: czysta energia, tania energia oraz zwiększenie możliwości rozwoju gminy i wsi z podatków.
