Particularly focusing on the role of Giovanni Gentile in the edification of a nationalist philosophical culture in Italy, the essay reveals the conceptual grounds of the notion of Homeland in the fascist culture.

The present article was written on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Mother Maria Skobtsova in Ravensbriick concentration camp. It aimed at presenting the Orthodox nuns path from a “prodigal intellectual” towards divinization. Mather Marias literary, artistic and social activity, which led to her death in a crematory furnace, is a perfect example of how to live a creative life which leads to Godmanhood.

At the end of the 1920s the reduction of unemployment represented one of the goal of the fascist regime. To achieve this goal the state should have produced a reliable statistical information, and it should have dealt also with the placement, the execution of public works, the reclamation and especially the battle for ruralization. The target was not achieved: despite the proclamations and the announcements, until the mid-1930s the fascist economic policy did not improve neither the workers’ conditions nor the levels of employment. This article focuses on the use of terms and concepts related to the nationalist movements by the Finnish security police during the Cold War. The key objective of the security police was to protect the legal order of the state and monitor the groups and phenomena potentially harmful to that cause. The previous experience regarding the rise of the radical nationalism and fascism in Finland in the 1930s and the 1947 Paris peace treaties were the historical and legal contexts within which the interpretations were made.
