“Feminisma tēmas reprezentācija Latvijas nacionālajos laikrakstos (1995.-2005.gads)” ir pētījums par feminisma jēdziena nozīmi Latvijas medijos, kad to sistēma bija mainīga un strauji attīstoša. Darbā autore apskata teoriju par mediju efektu ietekmi, kā arī izskata feminisma jēdziena pirmsākumus, kā arī tā nozīmi pētāmajā laika periodā, lai ar kontentanalīzes un vēsturiskā diskursa analīzes metodi spētu analizēt feminisma jēdziena reprezentāciju un mainīšanos 10 gadu laikā. Bakalaura darba teorētiskais pamats tiek balstīts uz feminisma tēmas izpēti, konkrēti aprakstot tā izplatītākos veidus un feminisma tēmas atspoguļojumu saistībā ar medijiem, līdz ar to teorijā tiek iekļauts arī reprezentācijas termina skaidrojums un apkopota informācija par mediju efektu teoriju. Summary Variation in the strength of age-dependent natural selection shapes differences in ageing rates across species and populations. Likewise, sexual selection can promote divergent patterns of senescence across the sexes. However, the effects of these processes on the evolution of ageing have largely been considered independently, and interactions between them are poorly understood. Resumen: A través de la información que nos proporcionan las vidas de Josefa Verride, tercera de la orden dominica en Huesca y Martina de los Ángeles, religiosa de la misma orden, fundadora del convento de san Pedro de Benabarre, pretendo aportar nuevas ideas acerca del proceso de adquisición de la fama de santidad de algunas mujeres en la Edad Moderna española. Las órdenes religiosas debieron idear estrategias que ayudasen a legitimar y consolidar la fama de santidad de estas mujeres. Una de estas estrategias fue la vinculación de las religiosas con otras mujeres con fama de santidad, creando genealogías femeninas que les permitiesen perpetuar su memoria y prestigio a lo largo del tiempo. …

The article presents a critique of competition by introducing a concept called 'distinction'. Competition is thought to work as a guarantee of the fairness of meritocratic procedures (merit-based recruiting in the job market or e.g. entrance examinations). However, fairness created by competition is, even at its best, only relative. This critique is then used a part of a larger critique of the role of merit in society.

BackgroundWithin the bone marrow (BM), mature T cells are maintained under homeostatic conditions to facilitate proper hematopoietic development. This homeostasis depends upon a peculiar elevated frequency of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and immune regulatory activities from BM-mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs). In response to BM transplantation (BMT), the conditioning regimen exposes the BM to a dramatic induction of inflammatory cytokines and causes an unbalanced T-effector (Teff) and Treg ratio.
