Evaluation of HBs, HBc, and frCP virus-like particles for expression of human papillomavirus 16 E7 oncoprotein epitopes.

2002

Objectives: In an attempt to develop virus-like particles (VLPs) as experimental vaccine against human papilloma virus (HPV)-induced tumours, the HPV16 E7 oncoprotein epitopes spanning amino acid (aa) residues 35–98 were expressed on three proteins capable of VLP formation: hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface (HBs) and core (HBc) antigens, and RNA phage fr coats (frCP). Methods: The profile of immunoglobulin isotypes induced in Balb/C mice after immunization with purified chimeric proteins was studied. Results: The HBs*-E7(35–54) protein expressing E7 residues 35–54 between residues 139 and 142 of the HBs carrier formed HBs-like particles…

Clathrin- and Caveolin-Independent Entry of Human Papillomavirus Type 16—Involvement of Tetraspanin-Enriched Microdomains (TEMs)

2008

BACKGROUND: Infectious entry of human papillomaviruses into their host cells is an important step in the viral life cycle. For cell binding these viruses use proteoglycans as initial attachment sites. Subsequent transfer to a secondary receptor molecule seems to be involved in virus uptake. Depending on the papillomavirus subtype, it has been reported that entry occurs by clathrin- or caveolin-mediated mechanisms. Regarding human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16), the primary etiologic agent for development of cervical cancer, clathrin-mediated endocytosis was described as infectious entry pathway. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: Using immunofluorescence and infection studies we show in contra…

ETHANOL DRINKING PATTERN DIFFERENTLY AFFECTS NOVELTY-RELATED BEHAVIOUR DURING ABSTINENCE IN FEMALE RATS

2014

Withdrawal from chronic ethanol leads to a multifaceted syndrome, characterized by negative affective state. Novelty seeking and motivation, closely related to affective state, can be assessed in rodents exploring behavioural response to novelty. This study aims at assessing novelty-related behaviour in female rats during ethanol withdrawal following different self-administration patterns. Female rats underwent 9-week-, 2-bottle choice-, continuous or intermittent (3 days/week) access to 20% ethanol; they were named CARs and IARs respectively. After 12h from last ethanol access, they were tested for locomotor activity induced by a novel environment; time spent in the central area of an open…

Ruch kobiecy w Bośni i Hercegowinie po Dayton oraz jego wpływ na pisarstwo kobiet

2018

The paper discusses the presence of the women's movement in Bośnia and Herzegovina after the Dayton Peace Agreement. The main purpose of the article is to find an answer to the question how feminism after the disintegration of Yugoslavia was developed in Bośnia. During the war and after 1995 there were a number of women's anti-war organizations, which often did not define themselves as a feminist, but in fact were. There are numerous publications presenting the achievements of women especially active in public life. At the same time, academic feminism developed. Ali these events have strengthened the awareness of women in Bośnia and also reflect Bosnian literary writers. There are many inte…
