Evoked responses to transcranial and electrical stimulation during isometric and lengthening contractions of the soleus muscle

The aim of this study was to assess differences in motor control between isometric and lengthening contractions of the soleus muscle. Evoked responses to TMS (MEPs) and electrical stimulation of the peripheral nerve (H-reflexes) where recorded at rest and during isometric and lengthening contractions of the soleus muscle at 20%, 40%, 60% and 80% MVC. Torque and background EMG were averaged over a time window of 100ms prior to stimulation. MEPs were found to be significantly lower (P < 0.05) during lengthening contractions compared to isometric contractions at 40%, 60% and 80% MVC (10.95 ± 0.05 mV vs 9.93 ±0.06 mV ; 1.47 ± 0.07 mV vs 9.7 ± 0.08 mV; 11.48 ± 0.08 mV ± vs 10.14 ± 0.07 mV). Izmantojot augstas izšķirtspējas monitoru sienas risinājumus, to lietojamība ir atkarīga no piekļuves risinājuma aparatūrai. Specifisku lietotņu izstrādei, attēloto datu kopīgošanai u.c. darbībām monitoru sienas aparatūra nav nepieciešama un nereti nav pieejama. Šādās situācijās var izmantot simulācijas risinājumu, piedāvājot monitoru sienas funkcionalitāti virtuālā vidē un novēršot atkarību no aparatūras pieejamības. The social significance of the Facebook Like button

In this paper we study social aspects of using the Like button for purposes of impression management, identity construction, and maintenance of social ties online. On the theoretical level our investigation combines Goffman’s notion of face-work with concepts of social network analysis, shedding light on what we dub ‘nano-level’ interaction and sociality on social networking sites. Our data come from a 2013 classroom survey in which 26 Finnish university students were asked about their motives for and ways of using the Like button.
