Les representacions de la «sociolingüística catalana»

This article analyses the sociolinguistics elaborated in the Catalan speaking countries, based on a textual corpus. First, different topics are examined; second, the most neglected aspects are indicated (with a theoretical reflection on the paradigm concept and a deep evaluation of Aracil’s work); third, the analysed common loci are compared and their relevance discussed. Finally, the representations of the studied authors are analysed from two different points of view: from a theoretical model based on the Catastrophe Theory and from the sociological paradigm perspective.

Aquest article exposa, en primer lloc, les relacions entre l’escriptor sicilià Tomasi di Lampedusa i el mallorquí Llorenç Villalonga. L’anàlisi de les afinitats i les divergències estilístiques entre els dos autors té com a objectiu l’estudi descriptiu de la traducció catalana de la novel·la Il Gattopardo, a fi de destacar les estratègies adoptades pel traductor Villalonga i els canvis que suposen en comparació amb l’original. From a study of four cases of real use of school dictionaries a review is made of issues habitually debated in general lexicography which are present particularly in the lexicography of first-language acquisition. Proposals are then made for the use of school dictionaries as a series of learning goals based on parallel reflection on the lexical unit, and an awareness of the assumptions involved in lexicographic conventions.

The Nova Cançó has not only been an important linguistic and civil phenomenon in Catalan life in the latest decades. It has also been a literary phenomenon that deserves to be analysed, taking into account both the lyrics of the important authors and the great variety and quantity of poems that, with music, became songs. La recepció d'Ausiàs March al segle XVI: l'edició de Romaní (1539)

Complete and detailed description of all the currently known copies of the edition of Ausiàs March’s poetry published by Baltasar de Romaní (València 1539). The author considers as stimulating the hypothesis explaining the edition as an initiative by Ferdinand of Aragon to introduce March and his verse into Castilian Spanish, which would explain why Romaní made a selection of text in Catalan with the corresponding Spanish translation.

This article analyzes the structures of «ésser» + participle in old Catalan. It highlights the diversity of constructions that may constitute this hind of construction (compound tenses, copulatives and passives). It analyzes the methodological problems derived from structural ambiguity, and points explains the evolutionary ways that language has established to solve the problems generated by formal syncretism.
