'Mundo' y 'pluralidad' en Hannah Arendt

El artículo se propone clarificar el significado del concepto de mundo y la relevancia de la condición de la pluralidad para la elaboración del espacio público en Hannah Arendt. Para ello se compara el concepto de mundo de Arendt con el de Heidegger. Se defiende que aunque parte de la ontología de Heidegger discrepa en muchos aspectos. Para Arendt el mundo compartido lo es con los otros en tanto que la pluralidad es la condición básica de toda vida política. The aim of this paper is to investigate the meaning of ¿understanding¿ and ¿judging¿ in the work of Hannah Arendt and, particularly, to emphasize the necessity if judging in order to give a meaning to existence. The hypothesis that is here defended is that there is in Arendt¿s work a non-explicit conception of the human subject that is conditioning the way in which ¿action¿ is understood. The paper holds that there is no rupture between The Human Condition (1957) and her Lectures on Kant¿s Political Philosophy (1982), and that both works have to be connected order to evaluate the significance of Arendt¿s thesis of giving a meaning to action by means of judging and understanding. The talk articulates the normative commitments allowing us to consider perceptual experience as a form of knowledge - that is, as a form of the human activity situated in the normative space of reason of which we can be held responsible. The chapter examines what we can know about gender from the perspective of the three primary notions introduced by Descartes in his correspondence with Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia. The first section discusses how the primitive notion of the mind strengthens the idea that “the mind has no sex”, an idea that was further developed by the Cartesian and early feminist François Poulain de la Barre. What can the concept of affective scaffolding do for us?

The concept of affective scaffolding designates the various ways in which we manipulate the environment to influence our affective lives. In this article, I present a constructive critique of recent discussion on affective scaffolding. In Part 1, I summarize how the theories of situated mind and niche construction contribute to a multidimensional notion of scaffolding. In Part 2, I focus specifically on affective scaffolding and argue that current ambiguity over its distinctive criteria causes uncertainty as to how the concept can and should be used.
