International audience; Flavescence dorée is a serious and incurable vine disease transmitted by an insect vector. Focusing on its spatial diffusion and on its control with pesticides, this paper investigates the private strategies of wine producers and their socially optimal counterparts. This paper investigates the influence of cultural distance, geographical distance, and three market size variables to the target country preference of SMEs in the software industry. In addition, we examine the shift of priorities in SMEs’ country selection by analyzing how these factors impact the selection of the first, second, and third target countries. Empirical findings of this study suggest that almost 70% of country choices can be explained by software market size and geographical distance alone. Leverage and Family Firms

This chapter analyses the relationship between ownership structure and leverage, providing an integrated theoretical approach that combines traditional financial theories, agency theory, and recently developed theories relating to non-financial preferences. The results show that, after controlling for endogeneity, being a family firm has a positive effect on the propensity to incur debt. These findings add to the existing body of literature and underline the need for a multi-theoretical approach when explaining the capital structure of family firms. This study aims to depict the current state of research on socioemotional wealth (SEW) in family businesses considering its definitions, roles, and dimensions. Using the SPAR-4-SLR protocol (Paul, Lim, O’Cass, Hao, & Bresciani, 2021), we develop a systematic review of literature on SEW covering 74 studies published between 2007 and 2022. We propose a comprehensive definition of SEW based on four nonfinancial aspects and an association model that reviews the roles of SEW as an antecedent, a consequence, or a moderator.
