Testing the Zee-Babu model via neutrino data, lepton flavour violation and direct searches at the LHC

We discuss how the Zee-Babu model can be tested combining information from neutrino data, low-energy experiments and direct searches at the LHC. We update previous analysis in the light of the recent measurement of the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{13}$, the new MEG limits on $\mu \rightarrow e \gamma$, the lower bounds on doubly-charged scalars coming from LHC data, and, of course, the discovery of a 125 GeV Higgs boson by ATLAS and CMS. In particular, we find that the new singly- and doubly-charged scalars are accessible at the second run of the LHC, yielding different signatures depending on the neutrino hierarchy and on the values of the phases. Large-N Weinberg-Tomozawa interaction and spin-flavor symmetry

The construction of an extended version of the Weinberg-Tomozawa Lagrangian, in which baryons and mesons form spin-flavor multiplets, is reviewed and some of its properties discussed, for an arbitrary number of colors and flavors. The coefficient tables of spin-flavor irreducible representations related by crossing between the $s$-, $t$- and $u$-channels are explicitly constructed.

Probing Supersymmetric Grand Unification through Flavor Physics

Flavor Changing Neutral Current (FCNC) and CP violating processes are a powerful tool to probe the Standard Model (SM) and, hence, to constrain or obtain indirect hints of New Physics (NP) beyond it. Within Supersymmetric Grand Unified theories it is generally possible to link processes occurring in the leptonic and hadronic sectors; thus, their correlated analysis provides a very interesting low energy test for a Grand Unified theory at high energies. Lepton flavor violation beyond the MSSM

Most extensions of the Standard Model lepton sector predict large lepton flavor violating rates. Given the promising experimental perspectives for lepton flavor violation in the next few years, this generic expectation might offer a powerful indirect probe to look for new physics. In this review we will cover several aspects of lepton flavor violation in supersymmetric models beyond the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. In particular, we will concentrate on three different scenarios: high-scale and low-scale seesaw models as well as models with R-parity violation. Leptonic Flavor-changing Z0 Decays in SU(2)xU(1) Theories with Right- handed Neutrinos

We analyze possible lepton-flavor-violating decays of the $Z^0$ particle in a minimal extension of the Standard Model, in which one right-handed neutral field for each family has been introduced. Such rare leptonic decays are induced by Majorana neutrinos at the first electroweak loop level and are generally not suppressed by the ordinary "see-saw" mechanism. In particular, we find that experimental bounds on branching ratios of the order of $10^{-5}-10^{-6}$ attainable at $LEP$ may impose constraints on lepton-flavor-mixing parameters and the masses of the heavy Majorana neutrinos.

3-loop heavy flavor Wilson coefficients in deep-inelastic scattering

Abstract We present our most recent results on the calculation of the heavy flavor contributions to deep-inelastic scattering at 3-loop order in the large Q 2 limit, where the heavy flavor Wilson coefficients are known to factorize into light flavor Wilson coefficients and massive operator matrix elements. We describe the different techniques employed for the calculation and show the results in the case of the heavy flavor non-singlet and pure singlet contributions to the structure function F 2 ( x , Q 2 ) .

Calculation of the two-loop heavy-flavor contribution to Bhabha scattering

We describe in detail the calculation of the two-loop corrections to the QED Bhabha scattering cross section due to the vacuum polarization by heavy fermions. Our approach eliminates one mass scale from the most challenging part of the calculation and allows us to obtain the corrections in a closed analytical form. The result is valid for arbitrary values of the heavy fermion mass and the Mandelstam invariants, as long as s,t,u >> m_e^2.

Measurement of theCP-violating phaseβsJ/ψϕinBs0→J/ψϕdecays with the CDF II detector

We present a measurement of the \CP-violating parameter \betas using approximately 6500 $$\BsJpsiPhi$$ decays reconstructed with the CDF\,II detector in a sample of $$p\bar p$$ collisions at $$\sqrt{s}=1.96$$ TeV corresponding to 5.2 fb$$^{-1}$$ integrated luminosity produced by the Tevatron Collider at Fermilab. We find the \CP-violating phase to be within the range $$\betas \in [0.02, 0.52] \cup [1.08, 1.55]$$ at 68% confidence level where the coverage property of the quoted interval is guaranteed using a frequentist statistical analysis.
