The park of the Madonie is an ideal place to reflect on contemporary forms of settlement. The Italian tendency to associate the protection of its cultural heritage with a return to the past is accompanied by the widespread belief that the past is the Paradise Lost, and that consequently, the identity of a place - along with that of its inhabitants - is to be found solely in its ancient history. In the case of the Madonie, its ‘glorious’ time goes back to a period when it was predominantly populated by sedentary shepherds and farmers. Dissimilarity Measures for the Identification of Earthquake Focal Mechanisms

This work presents a study about dissimilarity measures for seismic signals, and their relation to clustering in the particular problem of the identification of earthquake focal mechanisms, i.e. the physical phenomena which have generated an earthquake. Starting from the assumption that waveform similarity implies similarity in the focal parameters, important details about them can be determined by studying waveforms related to the wave field produced by earthquakes and recorded by a seismic network. The suppression of noises is fundamental in onsite Partial Discharge (PD) measurements. For this purpose, the wavelet transform analysis method has been developed and it is a powerful tool for processing the transient and suddenly changing signals. As the wavelet transform possesses the properties of multi-scale analysis and time-frequency domain localization, it is also particularly suitable to process the suddenly changing signals of the partial discharge pulse (PD). In this paper we address the study of the effects of product line diversification on firm performance in the mobile application market. Specifically, we shed light on whether the distribution platform ecosystem where developers commercialize their apps influence the effect of product line diversification, i.e., diversification across different app categories, on developer sales performance. To these purposes, we compare the sales performance of diversified developers with that of category-specialized developers in the two major app stores (namely, Apple’s App Store and Google Play). Il contributo, dopo un’analisi della disciplina sanzionatoria del licenziamento invalido nel pubblico impiego, prende in esame il nuovo art. 63, c. 2 bis, del D.lgs. n. 165/2001. La norma, che attribuisce al giudice il potere di rideterminare la sanzione in caso di difetto di proporzionalità, è oggi una peculiarità della disciplina del lavoro pubblico privatizzato. L’Autore ritiene che questa si ponga in controtendenza con le recenti riforme del lavoro in Italia, in quanto recupera importanti spazi alla discrezionalità giudiziale.

The work intends to analyse some classic themes of comparative public law such as methodological profiles and legal families and then focus on the characteristics of forms of government. In particular, the analysis, with a comparative perspective, intends to focus on the characteristics of the parliamentary form of government in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain and then on the French semi-presidential and US presidential forms of government. The aim is to provide, during teaching assignments, a starting point for further study. The work is accompanied by a bibliography on the various survey profiles, to facilitate the retrieval of doctrine on the subject.
