Performance Assessment of Critical Thinking: Conceptualization, Design, and Implementation

Enhancing students’ critical thinking (CT) skills is an essential goal of higher education. This article presents a systematic approach to conceptualizing and measuring CT. CT generally comprises the following mental processes: identifying, evaluating, and analyzing a problem; interpreting information; synthesizing evidence; and reporting a conclusion. We further posit that CT also involves dealing with dilemmas involving ambiguity or conflicts among principles and contradictory information. We argue that performance assessment provides the most realistic—and most credible—approach to measuring CT. Frames for Hilbert spaces are interesting for mathematicians but also important for applications in, e.g., signal analysis and physics. In both mathematics and physics, it is natural to consider a full scale of spaces, and not only a single one. In this paper, we study how certain frame-related properties of a certain sequence in one of the spaces, such as completeness or the property of being a (semi-) frame, propagate to the other ones in a scale of Hilbert spaces. Frames and weak frames for unbounded operators

In 2012 G\u{a}vru\c{t}a introduced the notions of $K$-frame and of atomic system for a linear bounded operator $K$ in a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, in order to decompose its range $\mathcal{R}(K)$ with a frame-like expansion. In this article we revisit these concepts for an unbounded and densely defined operator $A:\mathcal{D}(A)\to\mathcal{H}$ in two different ways. In one case we consider a non-Bessel sequence where the coefficient sequence depends continuously on $f\in\mathcal{D}(A)$ with respect to the norm of $\mathcal{H}$. In the other case we consider a Bessel sequence and the coefficient sequence depends continuously on $f\in\mathcal{D}(A)$ with respect to the graph norm of $A$.
Genomic structure and functional characterization of the human ADAM10 promoter

The ADAM10 gene encodes a membrane-bound disintegrin-metalloproteinase, which, after overexpression in an Alzheimer disease (AD) mouse model, prevents amyloid pathology and improves long-term potentiation and memory. Because enhancing ADAM10 expression appears to be a reasonable approach for treatment of AD, we functionally analyzed the ADAM10 gene. Both human and mouse ADAM10 genes comprise approximately 160 kbp, are composed of 16 exons, and are evolutionarily highly conserved within 500 bp upstream of either translation initiation site. The operation of new technologies and the supply of digital goods involves for users to disclose their personal data. The market data is already a reality with the danger that this entails for the privacy of citizens. The new General Data Protection Regulation has created a new legal framework that aims to radically change the current model, giving users greater powers to control their data. A good example of this is the express statement, and for the first time, of the right to be forgotten, which allows citizens to digitally erase their data when other fundamental rights are endangered.

This study analyzes STS 150/2021, of February 8, which has declared the deductibility of late payment interest in Corporation Tax. To do this, a review is made of the nature of the moratory interest, the forecast of the tax on the calculation of the taxable base in said tax and the framing of these interests within the deductible expense.
