Master's thesis Business Administration BE501 - University of Agder 2017 In this thesis we investigate the performance of moving average and momentum strategies by simulating returns, both in-sample and out-of-sample, while simultaneously taking into account important market frictions. We do so for two stock indices and four stock portfolios, at daily and monthly frequency, in the period from 1928 to 2015. The efficiency of a fluidized bed reactor depends on the bed fluid dynamic behavior, which is significantly influenced by the bubble properties. This work investigates the bubble properties of a bubbling fluidized bed reactor using computational particle fluid dynamic (CPFD) simulations and electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) measurements. The two-dimensional images (along the reactor horizontal and vertical planes) of the fluidized bed are obtained from the CPFD simulations at different operating conditions. Diplomdarbā tiek analizētas pasīvo RFID etiķešu izmaksu samazinājuma potenciāls kā iespēja biznesa veidošanai. Specifiski, lai skriešanas sacensību “Stirnu Buks” organizatoram varētu piedāvātu izdevīgāku laika izsekošanas tehnoloģiju par pašreizējo ārpakalpojuma sniedzēju - SPORTident. Darba rezultātā tiek secināts, ka ir iespējams piedāvāt pasīvo laika izsekošanas sistēmu lētāk par pašreizējo konkurentu un gūt sākotnēji plānoto peļņu. Tajā pašā laikā atšķirība no konkurenta piedāvātās cenas ir pietiekoši neliela, lai apšaubītu klienta vēlmi mainīt pakalpojuma sniedzēju. Šajā bakalaura darbā ir aplūkoti aprakstoši, novērtējoši īpašības vārdi, kā arī to salīdzinājuma pakāpes, kuras izmantotas produktu aprakstos pārtikas rūpniecības uzņēmumu tīmekļa vietnēs. Pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai un lai atbildētu uz pētījuma jautājumiem, pētniecības metodes ietvēra literatūras apskatu un diskursa analīzi. Bakalaura darba mērķis bija izpētīt īpašības vārdu lietošanas biežumu un nolūku mērķi astoņdesmit produktu aprakstos. Uzņēmumi savās mājas lapās var izmantot ar dabas aizsardzību (DA) saistītus terminus, lai sabiedrība tos uztvertu noteiktā veidā. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt DA terminu lietojumu desmit izvēlētu uzņēmumu mājas lapu tekstos, kas ņemti no piecām dažādām nozarēm. Galvenās pētījuma metodes ir literatūras apskats, absolūtā biežuma analīze un diskursa analīze. Dati parāda, ka automašīnu ražotāji savās mājaslapās izmanto visvairāk DA terminu, savukārt apģērbu firmas izmanto vismazāk DA terminu. Lielākā daļa atrasto DA terminu ir lietvārdi. Tiek secināts, ka uzņēmumus, kas savās mājaslapās lielākoties izmanto DA terminus no „vides risinājumu” kategorijas, var uztvert kā dabai draudzīgākus…

The International Monetary Fund proposes within its periodic World Economic Outlook report a measure of the global GDP annual growth, that is often considered as the benchmark nowcast by macroeconomists. This paper presents a practical implementation of synchronous PWM modulation algorithm for an induction motor field oriented control powered by a DC/AC inverter and implemented on a low-cost microcontroller, the ATSAM3X8E. In particular, a simple algorithm, capable to calculate automatically an optimized set of frequency modulation indexes will be presented. Hysteresis bands are also introduced in the algorithm in order to avoid multiple changeovers during modulation index transitions. Transmission, infectivity and survival of Diplostomum spathaceum cercariae

The transmission dynamics of the cercariae of Diplostomum spathaceum were investigated under laboratory conditions using cercariae collected from naturally infected Lymnaea stagnalis. Cercariae were kept in a constant temperature of 20 °C and the survival and infectivity to naïve young rainbow trout recorded at 3-h intervals until few cercariae were alive. Mortality initially remained constant but increased rapidly after 20 h. While a model of constant mortality fitted the survival data, an age-dependent model provided a better fit and implied that cercariae tended to carry similar quantities of resources and once these were exhausted the cercariae died. In the Mediterranean region, goat milk production is an important economic activity. In the present study, 4 casein genes were genotyped in 5 Sicilian goat breeds to 1) identify casein haplotypes present in the Argentata dell'Etna, Girgentana, Messinese, Derivata di Siria, and Maltese goat breeds; and 2) describe the structure of the Sicilian goat breeds based on casein haplotypes and allele frequencies. In a sample of 540 dairy goats, 67 different haplotypes with frequency >or=0.01 and 27 with frequency >or=0.03 were observed. The most common CSN1S1-CSN2-CSN1S2-CSN3 haplotype for Derivata di Siria and Maltese was FCFB (0.17 and 0.22, respectively), whereas for Argentata dell'Etna, Girgenta…
