Social information, acquired through the observation of other individuals, is especially relevant among species belonging to the same guild. The unpredictable and ephemeral nature of carrion implies that social mechanisms may be selected among scavenger species to facilitate carcass location and consumption. Questo volume è dato alle stampe a sessant’anni dalla laurea in giurisprudenza di Giovanni Falcone, conseguita con lode il 21 giugno 1961 presso l’Università di Palermo, e a quasi trent’anni dalla strage di Capaci1. 93. Els testimonis que foren presentats per aclarir els fets permeten obtenir una informació molt valuosa, i en part inèdita, del que fou la pràctica d’aquesta art venatòria en el context de les illes Balears, i per extensió en l’Occident europeu. The high economic and social value of falcons, hounds and horses in the late Middle Ages led to the development of a specialized medical practice to keep them healthy and treat their diseases.
