Commutators, C0-semigroups and resolvent estimates

Abstract We study the existence and the continuity properties of the boundary values on the real axis of the resolvent of a self-adjoint operator H in the framework of the conjugate operator method initiated by Mourre. We allow the conjugate operator A to be the generator of a C 0 -semigroup (finer estimates require A to be maximal symmetric) and we consider situations where the first commutator [ H ,i A ] is not comparable to H . The applications include the spectral theory of zero mass quantum field models.

Integrable Hamiltonian systems with swallowtails

International audience; We consider two-degree-of-freedom integrable Hamiltonian systems with bifurcation diagrams containing swallowtail structures. The global properties of the action coordinates in such systems together with the parallel transport of the period lattice and corresponding quantum cells in the joint spectrum are described in detail. The relation to the concept of bidromy which was introduced in Sadovski´ı and Zhilinski´ı (2007 Ann. Phys. 322 164–200) is discussed.

Suomalaisten 4-luokkalaisten lukutaito : PIRLS 2016 -tutkimuksen keskeisiä tuloksia

Joulukuussa 2017 julkaistiin kansainvälisen lasten lukutaitotutkimuksen (PIRLS) tulokset (ks. Leino ym. 2017). PIRLS-tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan 4.-luokkalaisten oppilaiden lukutaitoa ja lukemista monin eri tavoin. Keväällä 2016 hieman alle 5 000 oppilasta osallistui lukutaidon kokeeseen, jossa oppilaat vastasivat kaunokirjallisiin ja tietoteksteihin pohjautuviin tehtäviin. Lisäksi oppilaat täyttivät kyselyn, jonka avulla kerättiin tietoja oppilaiden asenteista, erilaisten tekstien lukemisesta ja oppilaan kotitaustasta. Tämän lisäksi tutkimuksessa oli lasten vanhemmille, opettajille ja koulujen rehtoreille omat kyselynsä, joiden avulla saatiin tietoa oppimisen ympäristöistä sekä resursseist…

Giuseppe, oltre che un’importante e sentita ricorrenza religiosa, è a Salemi soprattutto la “festa dei pani”; bellissime realizzazioni di alto artigianato artistico, la cui sapienza si tramanda nelle famiglie e nelle associazioni di donne che per mesi lavorano alla produzione dell’enorme quantità delle piccole e grandi forme di pane, per rivestire le costruzioni votive che accolgono il rito della cena. Nasce quindi l’idea di proporre un “Ecomuseo del grano e del pane” nel Collegio dei Gesuiti, valorizzando e riaprendo al pubblico uno spazio di grande interesse storico-architettonico. As part of the consolidated collaboration of the Municipality of Salemi with the Department of Architecture professors and students worked on a strategic design project for museum set-up and communication also open forms of participation and sharing with the various territorial actors in a sort of 'social conversation' with the protagonists and skills in the field. Positive parenting and parenting stress among working mothers in Finland, the UK and the Netherlands : Do working time patterns matter?

This study explored the effects of working time patterns on positive parenting and parenting stress, and the moderating effects of working hours, the unpredictability of work schedules, and autonomy over working time in a European context. This cross-national survey study compared Finnish (n = 337), Dutch (n = 283) and British (n = 317) mothers with children under the age of 13, using structural equation modeling with a multigroup procedure. We found a connection between working time patterns and positive parenting but the nature of the connection differed between countries. Cet article présente les débats autour du choix de l'école qui prennent place aujourd'hui, de plus en plus souvent, dans les pays étrangers, ainsi que les politiques qui ont été mises en place. Ces politiques, autant que les justifications idéologiques et théoriques qui les fondent, apparaissent de fait très variées. On examine également ce que l'on sait, au vue des recherches disponibles, de l'effet de ces politiques, sur l'efficacité et l'équité des systèmes éducatifs, résultats assez contrastés, et très dépendants des dispositifs concrets de choix retenus dans les divers pays. The Role of Family on Pathways to Acquiring Early Reading Skills In Lusaka’s Low-Income Communities

This paper reports findings from the study that examined the role of family in children’s acquisition of early reading skills. We recruited 72 first-grade learners and their parents from low-income Zambian families for the study. In response to a home literacy questionnaire, parents reported on their reading attitudes and family literacy environment. Children’s early reading skills were assessed using two early reading tests (orthographic awareness and decoding competence), both conducted at two different points during the year. Regression analyses of pretest and gain scores revealed that parental reading attitude and family literacy environment significantly predicted early reading skills.…

Esta investigación pretende conocer las expectativas de futuro de familias inmigrantes y profesorado sobre los estudiantes de Educación Primaria en la Comunidad Autónoma del País Vasco. El proceso de asentamiento de la primera generación de inmigrantes transnacionales en la última década pone de manifiesto la necesidad de seguir de cerca los procesos de incorporación de sus hijos/as en el nuevo país.
