Atículo publicado en: Invest Clin 52(4): 356 - 360, 2011 Se presentan 4 casos de actinomicosis pulmonar en pacientes mayores de 55 años, 2 de ellos con enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica (EPOC), que mostraron un aumento de la tos productiva, episodios de disnea, hemoptisis y fiebre de larga evolución. En las radiografías de tórax de rutina se observaban imágenes segmentarias de consolidación aérea, sugestivas de cuadros neumónicos no resueltos o neoplasia. La tomografía axial computarizada (TAC) mostró hallazgos similares a los anteriores. Los cultivos de esputo y las pruebas de Mantoux fueron repetidamente negativos. Agricultural water requirement in arid and semi-arid environments represents an important fraction of the total water consumption, suggesting the need of appropriate water management practices to sparingly use the resource. Furthermore the quality and quantity of some crops products, such as grape, is improved under a controlled amount of water stress. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt acu slimībām paredzēto preparātu (recepšu, bezrecepšu medikamenti, uztura bagātinātāji) apriti un lietošanas tendences piecās Ludzas aptiekās no 01.2013 līdz 12.2014. Iegūtie dati norāda, ka 93% receptes izraksta oftalmologi un visbiežāk tie ir prostaglandīna analogi (latanoprostu). Kopumā bezrecepšu medikamenti sastādīja 79% no acu slimībām lietotajiem medikamentiem, kas norāda uz farmaceitu būtisko lomu un nepieciešamību šo preparātu pārzināšanā un korekta ieteikšanā pacientiem. En este trabajo se realiza un análisis estructural del consumo de bebidas alcohólicas en una muestra de 337 jóvenes seleccionada entre las 2129 personas comprendidas entre los 15 y los 29 años empadronadas en el barrio de Casablanca (distrito periférico de la ciudad de Zaragoza). Para obtener los datos de la investigación fue utilizado el cuestio¬nario de comportamientos saludables CS-94 elaborado por Herrero, Musitu y Gracia (I 996). Background The stems of Opuntia ficus-indica, known as cladodes, are a rich source of soluble fibers, which makes them an important candidate for the production of functional foods. Tagliatelle of durum wheat fortified with Opuntia cladode extract (OCE) at different levels of addition (10-30%, v/w) was prepared on a laboratory scale and quality characteristics and sensory acceptability were assessed. Results The main quality parameters (optimal cooking time, swelling index, cooking loss, dry matter) and sensory analysis on a nine-point hedonic scale were comparable with those of the control pasta sample (no added OCE) when durum wheat was supplemented with OCE at up to 20% (v/w). Unusual high dose of tacrolimus in liver transplant patient, a case report.

Case We describe the case of a liver transplant patient who had great difficulty in reaching the desired trough blood levels despite the use of high dose tacrolimus. The patient was homozygous for the CYP3A5*3 allele. However, the respective donor carried the wild-type CYP3A5*1/*1 genotype. Regarding ABCB1 SNPs at exon 21 and 26, the patient showed the 2677GT and 3435CC genotypes. For the corresponding donor we observed the 2677GG and 3435CC wild-type genotypes. One, two and three weeks after transplantation the patient received daily 0.219, 0.287 and 0.273 mg/kg of tacrolimus, respectively. The transcription factor Yin Yang 1 (YY1) can favor several aspects of tumorigenesis. In turn, Raf-1 Kinase Inhibitor Protein (RKIP) inhibits the oncogenic activities of MAPK and NF-κB pathways and promotes drug-induced apoptosis. Mutual influences between YY1 and RKIP may exist, and there are already separate evidences that relevant increases in YY1 and reductions in RKIP occur in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the levels of the two factors have never been concomitantly examined in HCC.
