Vittorio Emanuele Orlando is one of the defining figures of the history of Italy. Lawyer, jurist and statesman, he founded the Italian School of Public Law and worked out an original version of the “Rechtsstaat”. He led Italy to victory during the First World War, took then an official stance against the Fascism and played a significant role in the republican constituent process. Il saggio analizza il modo in cui il network assemblatosi attorno a Roberto Farinacci, leader squadrista del cremonese, poi assurto ai vertici della politica fascista, si sia sedimentato anche come nucleo di potere. In particolare, viene messo in evidenza come la rete degli squadristi che ruotavano attorno a Farinacci già dalla prima ora, abbia interagito alla pari con ambienti della finanza e dell'industria italiana e come lo stesso Farinacci, al netto della professata intransigenza ideologica, avesse modo di relazionarsi a questi nuclei di potere che esistevano già prima del fascismo.

The evolution of Italian cinema in the first half of the twentieth century is intertwined with the historical events that marked Italy in the period between the two world wars: the coming to power of fascism and the rise to power of Benito Mussolini. Its protectionist policy favored the growth of the film industry that, in few years, created new forms of representation and made cinema a popular and mass art with a great pedagogical impact. The period between the two World Wars marks the end of mass emigration for Italy. In the course of thirty years, the migratory flows were transformed: the number of starters was reduced and the trajectories changed. The new restrictions established by immigration countries – (e.g. the Quota Acts in the Twenties) – and the advent of the fascist regime redesigned the paths of Italian emigrants.
