Instigated by the author’s four-and-a-half month long membership in the Wandervogel hiking club of Kanazawa University, Japan, this study focuses on the experience of hiking in the mountains from a phenomenological perspective. This period of preliminary fieldwork is drawn upon as a source of inspiration and firsthand experience rather than as research material itself, the bulk of which consists of twelve answers given by members of Wandervogel in an unstructured Google Docs questionnaire. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on kuvata ohjaajien käsityksiä draamasta ja toiminnallisista menetelmistä sekä etsiä vastauksia kysymyksiin, mitä draaman ja toiminnallisten menetelmien käyttäminen vaatii, ja mitä annettavaa menetelmillä on ohjaukseen ja ohjaustilanteessa oleville ihmisille? Toivon, että työni herättelee pohtimaan draaman, toiminnallisuuden ja yleensäkin luovuuden antia ohjausvuorovaikutukseen sekä miettimään hyvän vuorovaikutuksen lähtökohtia. The study contributes to education research by exploring parents’ perceptions and experiences of encounters with staff from the perspectives of Buber’s (1923/1987; 1947/2002) dialogic philosophy and Giorgi`s (1994) phenomenological psychology. Workplace learning (WPL) is a complex phenomenon involving the intertwined processes of working and learning. Recent studies have shown the importance of sustainable perspectives in WPL situations. In the literature, sustainable development is still predominantly referred to environmental, economic and social sustainability. In this study, sustainable perspectives denote the widespread use of previous knowledge, the rapid application of new knowledge and the effects of this knowledge on well-being, thus leaning on human sustainability.
