Proton emission off nuclei induced by kaons in flight

We study the (K-, p) reaction on nuclei with a 1 GeV/c momentum kaon beam, paying special attention to the region of emitted protons having kinetic energy above 600 MeV, which was used to claim a deeply attractive kaon nucleus optical potential. Our model describes the nuclear reaction in the framework of a local density approach and the calculations are performed following two different procedures: one is based on a many-body method using the Lindhard function and the other is based on a Monte Carlo simulation. Our laboratory cloned two peroxisomal 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase genes in mouse. These genes were named mThA (mouse peroxisomal Thiolase A) and mThB (mouse peroxisomal Thiolase B) by comparison with peroxisomal thiolase genes known in rat (Hijikata et al. 1990, Bodnar & Rachubinski, 1990). In this study, we analysed the tissue expression of the two thiolase genes on wild and on PPARa-null mice.

Mākslīgos apstākļos audzētas spirulīnas (A. Platensis) ķīmiskais sastāvs. Vītols J., darba vadītājs Dr. ķīm.,asoc. prof. Jākobsone I. Maģistra darbs 45 lappuses, 3 attēli, 3 tabulas, 59 literatūras avoti, 6 pielikumi. Latviešu valodā. Darbā tika noteikts mākslīgos apstākļos audzētas aļģes “Spirulīna” ķīmiskais sastāva analīze. Tika noteikts olbaltumvielu, tauku, ogļhidrātu, minerālvielu, kopējo fenola savienojumu saturs. Tāpat arī kvantitatīvi noteikts dažādu pigmentu – hlorofils a un b, karotinoīdu sastāvs. Un kvalitatīvi noteikts zilais pigments – fikocianīns. Darba gaitā tika izaudzēta aļģe Arthrospira Platensi, kuras sastāvs tika izvērtēts.

Aim of this study was to assess the clinical and economic effect of adding mepolizumab (MEP) for the treatment of these patients. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastelun kohteena ovat kolmen tanssijan kokemukset ja merkitykset, joita he tanssille antavat. Miksi he tanssivat? Miksi tanssi on merkityksellistä ja tärkeää heille ja kuinka he suhteuttavat itsensä osaksi yhteiskuntaa näiden merkitysten kautta. Lopuksi pohdin saamieni tulosten valossa miten yhteiskunta arvottaa ja arvostaa tanssin harrastajaa, ja kuinka yhteiskunta vastaa näihin tanssin harrastajan tanssille antamiin merkityksiin. Abstract Background Immune response against cancer has prognostic impact but its role in gastric cancer is poorly known. The aim of the study was to assess the prognostic significance of immune cell score (CD3+, CD8+), tumour immune escape (PD-L1, PD-1) and immune tolerance (Clever-1). Methods After exclusion of Epstein-Barr virus positive (n = 4) and microsatellite instable (n = 6) tumours, the study included 122 patients with GC undergoing D2 gastrectomy.
