Materiell og profesjonell stigmatisering av mennesker med sykelig overvekt

The aim of this study is to show how people suffering from severe obesity mightexperience stigmatization. We interviewed 6 persons recruited from aNorwegian rehabilitation center, specialized in lifestyle intervention in severeobesity. We found that the participants suffering from severe obese experiencedstigmatization and thus felt that they a) did not fit into the materiel world and b)experienced a lack of respect from health care professionals. The results arediscussed according to how contemporary symbols are embedded in oursurroundings and in our bodies. Korostunut häpeän tunne liittyy olennaisesti niin mielenterveysongelmiin kuin psykiatriseen hoitotyöhön. Erityisesti mielisairaalaan joutuminen on monelle häpeällinen kokemus, josta on vaikeaa puhua. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastelen mielisairaalakokemuksiin liittyvää häpeää  psykiatristen sairaaloiden potilaiden, omaisten ja henkilökunnan kirjoittamien muistojen valossa. Women's Emotions Towards the Mobile Phone

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether women's emotions associate differently with the mobile phone depending on the type of family in which they live. James A. Russell's circumplex model of affect which explores four main emotional dimensions, excitement, distress, depression and contentment, was applied. The article is based on the female sub-sample (N = 3,704) of nationally representative survey data collected from Italy, France, the UK, Germany and Spain (N = 7,255) in 2009. Little is known about orthorexia in both its pathological (orthorexia nervosa, OrNe) and adaptive (healthy orthorexia, HeOr) forms. To date, few studies have been carried out to analyze the personality profile associated with orthorexia, and the results have been contradictory. The aim of the present study was to explore the characteristic pathological personality traits associated with OrNe and HeOr. The purpose of this cross-sectional investigation was to examine the item characteristics, factor structure, reliability, convergent validity, and nomological validity of the Psychobiosocial States in Physical Education (PBS-SPE) scale. In Study 1, a sample of 1,030 students (582 girls and 448 boys, 10 to 19-year-olds), drawn from middle or high schools, rated the intensity of the 20 items version of the PBS-SPE scale thinking about the feelings they had usually experienced in physical education classes.
