The meaning of peer group mentoring in the university context

Peer mentoring is commonly used for didactical and learning purposes. In this study we examine peer group mentoring in the university context. The aim is to promote understanding of peer group mentoring based on a meta-analysis of two primary studies: teacher students and teacher group tutors. As a result, three core categories were found: 1) Individual’s participation in the group, 2) Professional development with others and 3) Community enabling sharing and development. Leadership and meaningful work: The possibilities and challenges of the Vocational Meaning and Fulfillment Survey In this study we examined how leaders perceive meaningful work and if the new Vocational Meaning and Fulfillment Survey (VMFS) could be used as a leadership tool in organizations. The data were collected through 22 semistructured thematic interviews and analyzed with a phenomenographic approach. Tutkimuksen tarkoitus on selvittää, millaisia kasvatuksellisia merkityksiä Nuorisokeskus Villa Elban seikkailukasvatukseen pohjautuvilla leirikouluilla voi olla koululuokalle. Tutkimuksen teoriaosassa selvitämme, miten seikkailukasvatus voisi tukea kouluopetusta. Tämän laadullisen tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, mitä vajaan vuoden mittaiseen life coach -koulutukseen osallistuvat aikuisopiskelijat kokivat koulutusjakson aikana, millaista oppimista koulutuksen aikana tapahtui sekä miten koulutuksen vaikutukset näkyivät opiskelijoiden arjessa. Tutkimuksen teon aikana tutkimuksen fokus tarkentui, ja keskeiseksi nousivat kokemuksellisen oppimisen merkitys sekä opiskelijoiden koulutusvuoden aikana kokema henkilökohtainen oppimis- ja kasvuprosessi.
