Sequence and evolution of a hexamerin from the ant Camponotus festinatus.

In the ant Camponotus festinatus, two different hexamerins accumulate stage-specifically during the late larval period and at various times in adults. These hexamerins serve as storage proteins and play important roles in brood nourishment and colony founding. We report an analysis of the cDNA sequence of C. festinatus hexamerin 2 (CfeHex2). The native protein contains 732 amino acids, which are moderately enriched in aromatic amino acids, aspartate and asparagine. Phylogenetic analyses show a close relationship of CfeHex2 to a putative toxin of the braconid wasp, Bracon hebetor. This doctoral dissertation uses data from the extensive preventive archaeological research carried out in the Upper Seine Valley in the south-east of the Paris Basin for at least five decades an area where Bronze Age and Early Iron Age sites are numerous and generally well preserved. The 2005 excavation by Inrap of the Villiers-sur-Seine site "le Gros Buisson", an "unusual" settlement dating to the final phase of the Late Bronze Age (9th century B.C.) is the main focus of this study, having shed new light on domestic contexts of this pivotal period. Ripercorrendo le annotazioni del padre gesuita Ignazio de Vio sul Festino di Santa Rosalia del 1693 ci si sofferma sulle numerose personalità artistiche e sulle maestranze palermitane impegnate in quell'occasione ad abbellire il Cassaro con le loro creazioni, dagli argenti ai pregiati drappi, agli ori, alle gemme, agli stucchi, agli apparati effimeri. Going over the notes of the Jesuit Father Ignazio de Vio on the Festino di Santa Rosalia in 1693, one can linger over the numerous artistic personalities and workers from Palermo who were engaged on that occasion in embellishing the Cassaro with their creations, from silverware to precious drapes, gold, gems, stuccoes and ephemeral devices.

Nel 1747 e nel 1789 vennero sontuosamente organizzati a Palermo, capitale del Regno di Sicilia, i solenni funerali di Filippo V e di Carlo III del ramo dei Borbone di Spagna.
