El treball explica, per primera vegada, que CIL VI 30553, 1, és, en realitat un doblet no identificat de CIL VI 13148 (més Additamenta p. 3512). Es localitza la inscripció a la Galleria Lapidaria dels Museus Vaticans en un frontal de sarcòfag (n. inventari 5649) i es presenta una nova edició a partir de CIL i de l’autopsia. This paper shows for the first time that CIL VI 30553, 1 is in fact a double edition not identified of CIL VI 13148 (plus Additamenta p. 3512). We localize the inscription at the Musei Vaticani’s Galleria Lapidaria, in a front of sarcophag (inventory n. 5649) and we present a new edition from previous CIL editions and our autopsy.

The entire textual transmission of a late ninth-century poem, the Bella Parisiacae urbis by Abbo of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, is indissolubly tied with glosses and glossaries. The peculiarity of its composition as well as its large circulation makes this poem a perfect case study for the role and development of medieval glossography. In fr. I R.3 (Afranius’ Abducta) we can recognise an imagery connected to the rhetorical-philosophical Stoic tradition. Indeed, the adjective senticosus introduces the metaphor of thorns, a stylistic device associated with the Stoic sermo. This interpretation seems to be confirmed by Apuleius’ use of this adjective in Florida 18, which contains the famous ‘sophism of Protagoras’.

Per quanto riguarda il mondo germanico riveste particolare rilievo il culto di quei santi che appaiono più strettamente legati alle formazioni politiche che vanno emergendo in Europa occidentale.
