In this paper, Vaccaro aims to interrogate the political value of truth. Moving from Hannah Arendt and the debate between modernity and postmodernity, the paper focus the Will to truth according the elaboration of Nietzsche, but also the first Collège de France course by Foucault in the ’70s. The thesis is a etho-politics of telling the truth, that to say the parrhesia, as an antidote either to the nihilation of truth in the post-truth, or to the enforcement of truth as the One in politics.

Post and de-colonial studies define a huge and heterogeneous field of research, crossing several disciplines and territories. Their interdisciplinary interaction produces a fruitful and open space with vague boundaries. Divergent positions, sometimes even contradictory, different ways of being postcolonial prevent us from considering them as a homogeneous entity. However, the heterogeneity of the positions inside and across postcolonial and decolonial studies cannot be separated from a common basis, a core of concepts that move the analysis from the same starting point: the event of colonization.

La ragione naturale viene contrapposta alla ragione soprannaturale contrario della trionfale sintesi hegeliana. Questa si costituisce come arresa vincente: dopo essersi dichiarati sconfitti, manifestata la propria impotenza di soluzione dell’ossimoro e divenuti ormai completamente coscienti del limite, si viene trasportati nell’immenso universo che contiene tutti gli opposti.

This contribution aims to shed light on the specific mechanism of migrant categorization implemented by the so-called «Hotspot approach», which was launched by the EU Agenda on Migration in May 2015. This approach is here envisaged as a response to the current changes in the composition of migration towards Europe. Provisions contained in EU and Italian policy documents are compared with concrete practices enacted on the ground by investigating two case studies: the initial opening of the Hotspot at Milo, in Trapani, and the first months of functioning of the Hotspot on Lampedusa. Empowerment, resilience and poverty reduction strategies seem to be bound by mutual exclusion. Through poverty reduction and empowerment, people escape poverty and precarization processes by acquiring capabilities that give them both economic and existential stability; in a word, they acquire human resilience. Nevertheless, the relationship between the three concepts and their corresponding practices is characterized by a complementary link that works as a matrix of neoliberal subjectivation processes that involve both men and women on a global level.
