Background This article uses the logistic regression model for diagnostic decision making in patients with chronic nasal symptoms. We studied the ability of the logistic regression model, obtained by the evaluation of a database, to detect patients with positive allergy skin-prick test (SPT) and patients with negative SPT. An optimal health system must ensure that all citizens have free access to medical services, and to determine the effective use of funds. We therefore reach the conclusion that the health financing system that best meets the optimal criteria is the public one. We believe that a system of public health funding should be based not only on contributions, but also on funding from the state budget; therefore it should combine the two public sources. The Influence of Religion on Life Satisfaction in Italy

Italy is the cradle of Catholicism and, despite the secularization process, religion continues to be part of its national culture. Although Italian sociologists have investigated the religious paradigm in Italy, there are aspects of such phenomenon still little explored. This paper examines the potential influence religion has on individuals’ life satisfaction. Data from the European Value Study survey provides evidence of a two-way interaction between religion and life satisfaction, with a substantial effect only in the case of public religious forms.
