Negative thermal expansion in cuprite-type compounds: A combined synchrotron XRPD, EXAFS, and computational study of Cu2O and Ag2O

Cuprite-type oxides (Cu2O and Ag2O) are framework structures composed by two interpenetrated networks of metal-sharing M4O tetrahedra (M = Cu, Ag). Both compounds exhibit a peculiar negative thermal expansion (NTE) behaviour over an extended temperature range (9 240 K for Cu2O, 30-470 K for Ag2O). High-accuracy synchrotron powder diffraction and EXAFS measurements were performed from 10 K up to the decomposition temperature to understand the nature of the NTE effects. Multiple scattering approach for two-electron resonant emission studied by angle-resolved coincidence spectroscopy.

International audience; We have developed a generalization of the multiple-scattering formalism to deal with Auger-photoelectron coincidence spectroscopy APECS in the solid state. We have merged the exact atomic treatment of the angular correlations between the two electrons and the single-particle approach, on which the multiplescattering description of condensed matter relies. This allows the recovering, even in extended systems, of the entangled form of the electron-pair wave function characterizing the coincidence angular diffraction pattern. Decorated pottery study: Analysis of pigments by x-ray absorbance spectroscopy measurements

Characterization of pigments on decorated pottery fragments has been fully carried out by nondestructive x-ray absorbance spectroscopy (XAS). The samples were a series of pottery shards excavated from the archeological site of Caltagirone (Sicily, Italy), a well-known ceramic production center. Aesthetical criteria and morphological observations allowed us to attribute the samples to quite different historical periods, starting from the 18th century B.C. up to the 16th century A.D. International audience; The authors show that spatial dependence and spatial heterogeneity matter in the estimation of the ß-convergence process among 138 European regions over the 1980 to 1995 period. Using spatial econometrics tools, the authors detect both spatial dependence and spatial heterogeneity in the form of structural instability across spatial convergence clubs. The estimation of the appropriate spatial regimes spatial error model shows that the convergence process is different across regimes. Large numbers of cold positronium atoms created in laser-selected Rydberg states using resonant charge exchange

Lasers are used to control the production of highly excited positronium atoms (Ps*). The laser light excites Cs atoms to Rydberg states that have a large cross section for resonant charge-exchange collisions with cold trapped positrons. For each trial with 30 million trapped positrons, more than 700 000 of the created Ps* have trajectories near the axis of the apparatus, and are detected using Stark ionization. This number of Ps* is 500 times higher than realized in an earlier proof-of-principle demonstration (2004 Phys. Lett. B 597 257). Bakalaura darba mērķis ir, pamatojoties uz AS Grindeks un AS Olainfarm gada pārskatu finanšu analīzi, novērtēt uzņēmumu finansiālo stāvokli un izstrādāt priekšlikumus to uzlabošanai. Bakalaura darbā tika apkopotas galvenās finanšu analīzes teorētiskās pamatnostādnes, tālāk tika veikts AS Grindeks un AS Olainfarm finansiālā stāvokļa novērtējums, izmantojot finanšu analīzes rādītājus, kā arī iegūtie rezultāti tika salīdzināti uzņēmumu starpā un ar farmācijas nozares vidējiem rādītājiem. Darba kopējais apjoms ir 100 lappuses un sastāv no 4 nodaļām.
Is mental health literacy for depression associated with the intention toward preventive actions? A cross-sectional study among university students

Objective Mental Health Literacy (MHL) might play an important role in preventing depression. This study assessed the MHL level for depression of university students and its association with intentions toward preventive actions against depression. Participants: University students (n = 315) were surveyed online. Methods: MHL level and group differences were analyzed using t-tests and one-way ANOVA. To investigate the relation between MHL and the intention for preventive actions against depression, correlation and regression analyses were performed.
