Acid-induced rearrangement of epoxygermacra-8,12-olides: synthesis and absolute configuration of guaiane and eudesmane derivatives from artemisiifolin

A study on the acid-induced rearrangement of 4,5-epoxy- and 1,10-epoxygermacra-8,12-olides was carried out. From a 4,5-epoxy derivative, guaianes were obtained, whereas 1,10-epoxy derivatives furnished, depending on the stereochemistry of the C-1/C-10 epoxy ring, trans-5β,10α- or trans-5α,10β-eudesmanolides.

Based on data from the Household Survey conducted by INE in 1990-1991, we examine private educational expenditures in Andalusian Region. First, we look at the educational family budgets from a descrittive point of view. Then, we fit different econometrics expenditures models to analyse the behaviour of Andalusian families in the field of education.

ResumenLa crisis financiera internacional impulsada por las noticias vertidas en agosto de 2007 ha tenido efectos devastadores sobre los mercados de capitales internacionales. El objetivo de este artículo se centra en verificar, en este contexto de crisis, si las empresas del mercado continuo español generan rendimientos anormales negativos, a la par que investigar qué factores ligados al gobierno corporativo podrían justificar estas anomalías. Exploring theoretical frameworks for the analysis of fertility fluctuations

The Easterlin theory, popular during the 1970s, explained population fluctuations in terms of maximization of choice, based on the evaluation of previously acquired information. Fluctuations in procreational patterns were seen as responses to conflict between 2 consecutive generations in which the propensity to procreate is inversely related to cohort size. Do the mobile-rich get richer? Internet use, travelling and social differentiations in Finland

This article investigates the daily travelling practices that are related to mobile-only, fixed-only and combined mobile/fixed use of the Internet, and the social differentiations that are related to these three ways of accessing the Internet. Survey data ( N = 612) collected from Finland in 2011 are analysed. The article shows that mobile-only Internet use is not associated with particularly diverse or frequent daily travelling practices, whereas combined mobile/fixed use is. Mobile-only Internet users are, in fact, in a relatively disadvantaged position – compared with other users, they are more typically unemployed and their household income is lower.
