Purpose: Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have become a highly competitive market, where consumers (i.e. students) are highly involved in their choices, and managers need to focus on competitive edges. This paper aims to understand the factors that influence international Master students' choice behaviour and fulfil student expectations of customer value in HEIs. La Reforma del Estado fomentada en la década de 1990 en Brasil introdujo en la gestión pública una fuerte orientación gerencial con énfasis en la productividad. La diseminación de ese paradigma definió nuevas relaciones en el interior del Estado, entre éste y la sociedad civil y el mercado. La reforma administrativa buscó consolidar un nuevo diseño institucional para la administración de las políticas públicas educativas, incorporando las prácticas de gestión tradicionalmente utilizadas por la iniciativa privada como la alternativa más eficiente a la búsqueda de resultados positivos cuanto a los servicios prestados, a partir de modelos más flexibles de gestión y regulación.

Researchers' Age, Gender and Professional Status as Indicators of the Twitter Perception in Science Dissemination

Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar el grado de satisfacción e interés que presenta el personal de investigación de las universidades españolas por las redes sociales como Twitter. Para ello, se han examinado los datos obtenidos mediante una encuesta online a unos 600 investigadores proactivos de la divulgación científica de 20 universidades españolas (2016). Para el análisis de los datos, se utilizó el test de independencia de Kruskal-Wallis. Según los resultados, dos de cada tres (65.4%) investigadores percibieron beneficios después de haber realizado la comunicación de sus resultados de investigación y una gran mayoría (84.7%) no percibieron ningún perjuicio.
