2013

Although Miguel Parra Abril (Valencia, 1780-Madrid, 1846) is one of the most important Valencian School painters of floral still lifes, this aspect of his work remains little known. The present article addresses this oversight in two ways. First, by offering an overview of his oeuvre as a painter of floral subjects from his student days at the Fine Arts Academy of Valencia through his mature works. Second, by analyzing two heretofore-unpublished floral compositions in relation to his more familiar works, particularly those located in private collections until recent years.

Chemical and biological study of saponins isolated from three malagasy species belonging to Caryophyllaceae, Pittosporaceae and Solanaceae families

2013

This thesis was carried out in the Laboratory of Pharmacognosy, in the Pharmacy section of the University of Burgundy. The principal theme of this laboratory is the research of natural compounds from tropical biodiversity, mainly saponins. In this context, the study of Malagasy plants, Polycarpaea corymbosa Lamk. (CARYOPHYLLACEAE), Pittosporum verticillatum Bojer subsp. verticillatum (PITTOSPORACEAE), Solanum incanum L. and S. heteracanthum Dunal. (SOLANACEAE) led to the isolation of fifteen natural glycosides by column chromatography, medium pressure liquid chromatography, flash chromatography, and vacuum liquid chromatography. The structures were elucidated mainly by the use of spectrosco…

Influence of organic matters on the bacterial AsIII oxidation in polluted soils

2014

International audience; The global bacterial AsIII-oxidizing activity tends to decrease As toxicity in soils and its transfer toward underlying aquifers. The influence of different types of organic matters on arsenic speciation by pure strains and soils microflora was determined. Experimental results show that the presence of organic matter has a negative effect on the specific rate of AsIII oxidation by pure strains presenting different metabolisms. In parallel, experiments are performed with various soils from different types of polluted sites: former mining and industrial sites, forest and agricultural soils impacted by mining activities. The effect of yeast extract on the AsIII-oxidizin…

Exploitation des données d’épidémio-surveillance des adventices

2013

Consequences of sown grass margin strip on weed flora

2010

The intensification of the management of weed populations, led by a potential decrease in the yield and quality of crop harvest, has largely induced their decline in arable zones across the last decades. This floristic decline in arable landscape, has induced a loss of a larger biodiversity because the presence of others organisms (birds, insects, mammals) are strongly linked with the abundance of trophic resources as weed are. To counter with this loss of biodiversity and to limit the negative impacts of farming practices on environment, numerous agri environmental schemes were launched through Europe. In France, sown grass strips were established by farmers along streams and rivers to lim…

2013

Soil contamination by bacterial pathogens can occur through manure, sewage sludge spreading or irrigation using waste water treatment plants effluents. Agricultural soils may act as reservoirs for these pathogens, play a significant role in their dissemination, leading to the potential contamination of food and water resources. Health risk associated with the occurrence of pathogens in environmental matrices has to be thoroughly evaluated. In this context, the objectives of this work were: i) to determine the prevalence of two pathogenic bacterial species (Listeria monocytogenes and Enterococcus faecalis) in a large collection of French soils originated from a systematic soil survey of the …
