Abstract An array of poly- and mononuclear complexes of Pt(II) with polypyridyl ligands is reported. The framework complexes [(PtCl 2 ) 2 (bpp) 2 (μ-PtCl 2 )](H 2 O) 2 [bpp = 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine], [PtCl 2 (μ-tptz)PtClNCPh]Cl [tptz = 2,4,6-tris(2-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine], and mononuclear PtCl 2 (NH 2 dpt) [NH 2 dpt = 4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole] have been prepared and structurally characterized. Both neutral and ionic complexes are present, with bifunctional and monofunctional Pt(II) moieties, whose size and shape enable them to behave as novel scaffolds for DNA binding. Background The endocannabinoid (eCB) 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) is a known modulator of inflammation and ligand to both, pro-inflammatory cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) and anti-inflammatory CB2. While the role of both receptors in atherogenesis has been studied extensively, the significance of 2-AG for atherogenesis is less well characterized. Methods The impact of 2-AG on atherogenesis was studied in two treatment groups of ApoE-/- mice. Information on the immunopathobiology of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is rapidly increasing; however, there remains a need to identify immune features predictive of fatal outcome. Several studies implicate that lung cancer progression is governed by the interaction between epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling and protein kinase C (PKC) pathways. Combined the targeting of EGFR and PKC may have an additive or synergistic effects in lung cancer treatment. Podoplanin/gp38+ stromal cells present in lymphoid organs play a central role in the formation and reorganization of the extracellular matrix and in the functional regulation of immune responses. Gp38+ cells are present during embryogenesis and in human livers of primary biliary cirrhosis. Since little is known about their function, we studied gp38+ cells during chronic liver inflammation in models of biliary and parenchymal liver fibrosis and steatohepatitis.
