Fourier-transform spectroscopy, relativistic electronic structure calculation, and coupled-channel deperturbation analysis of the fully mixed A1Σu+ a…
2019
The 4503 rovibronic term values belonging to the mutually perturbed $A^1\Sigma^+_u$ and $b^3\Pi_u$ states of Cs$_2$ were extracted from laser induced fluorescence (LIF) $A\sim b\rightarrow X^1\Sigma^+_g$ Fourier transform spectra with the 0.01 cm$^{-1}$ uncertainty. The experimental term values of the $A^1\Sigma^+_u\sim b^3\Pi_u$ complex covering the rotational levels $J\in [4,395]$ in the excitation energy range $[9655,13630]$ cm$^{-1}$ were involved into coupled-channel (CC) deperturbation analysis. The deperturbation model takes explicitly into account spin-orbit coupling of the $A^1\Sigma^+_u(A0^+_u)$ and $b^3\Pi^+_{0_u}(b0^+_u)$ states as well as spin-rotational interaction between the…
Solution for an arbitrary number of coupled identical oscillators.
1992
We propose a solution to the problem of solving the Schr\"odinger equation for an arbitrary number of identical one-dimensional harmonically coupled oscillators raised by Fan Hong-yi [Phys. Rev. A 42, 4377 (1990)]. The relationship between the Fock spaces associated with the uncoupled and coupled oscillators is given as well as the coordinate representation of the eigenstates. In view of further applications, the Lie algebraic properties of the model are examined, and the generalization to three spatial dimensions is made.
Preparation of macroscopically distinguishable superpositions of circular or linear oscillatory states of a bidimensionally trapped ion
2000
A simple scheme for the generation of two different classes of bidimensional vibrational Schrodinger cat-like states of an isotropically trapped ion is presented. We show that by appropriately adjusting an easily controllable parameter having a clear physical meaning, the states prepared by our procedure are quantum superpositions of either vibrational axial angular momentum eigenstates or Fock states along two orthogonal directions.
Particle in Harmonic E-Field E(t) = Esinω 0 t; Schwinger–Fock Proper-Time Method
2017
Since the Green’s function of a Dirac particle in an external field, which is described by a potential A μ (x), is given by $$\displaystyle{ \left [\gamma \cdot \left (\frac{1} {i} \partial - eA\right ) + m\right ]G(x,x^{{\prime}}\vert A) =\delta (x - x^{{\prime}}) }$$ (37.1) the Green operator G+[A] is defined by $$\displaystyle{ \left (\gamma \Pi + m\right )G_{+} = 1\,,\quad \Pi _{\mu } = p_{\mu } - eA_{\mu } }$$ or $$\displaystyle\begin{array}{rcl} G_{+}& =& \frac{1} {\gamma \Pi + m - i\epsilon }\,,\quad \epsilon > 0 {}\\ & =& \frac{\gamma \Pi - m} {\left (\gamma \Pi \right )^{2} - m^{2} + i\epsilon } = \frac{-\gamma \Pi + m} {m^{2} -\left (\gamma \Pi \right )^{2} - i\epsilon } {}\\ & =&…
Quantum state engineering in a cavity by Stark chirped rapid adiabatic passage
2006
We propose a robust scheme to generate single-photon Fock states and atom-photon and atom-atom entanglement in atom-cavity systems. We also present a scheme for quantum networking between two cavity nodes using an atomic channel. The mechanism is based on Stark-chirped rapid adiabatic passage (SCRAP) and half-SCRAP processes in a microwave cavity. The engineering of these states depends on the design of the adiabatic dynamics through the static and dynamic Stark shifts.
On the theoretical analysis of the lowest many-electron states for cyclic zigzag graphene nano-ribbons
2014
We have calculated the optical and magnetic properties of the four lowest many-body states for cyclic zigzag graphene nano-ribbons (GNRs). The results have been obtained within the semi-empirical restricted frozen Hartree?Fock approximation. Firstly, we obtained one-determinant numerical and analytical coincident results. We detected the existence of two degenerate open-shell molecular orbitals (MOs) o, o?. Due to this degeneracy, some of the mentioned results do depend on any (arbitrary) orthogonal transformation between these two MOs. We have improved these preliminary results by using linear combinations of two determinants, which are eigenfunctions of the operators, which commute with t…
Single-step arbitrary control of mechanical quantum states in ultrastrong optomechanics
2015
We describe how ultrastrong interactions in optomechanical systems can be used to force the system ground state to evolve into an arbitrary quantum state of mechanical motion in a completely controlled and deterministic manner. If the target quantum state is a superposition of $N$ Fock states, it can be obtained by applying in single-step $N$ classical optical signals of different frequencies for a common time interval. This protocol can be applied to various strongly interacting quantum systems as trapped ions beyond the Lamb-Dicke regime and cavity QED into the ultrastrong coupling regime.
Emulation of n-photon Jaynes Cummings and Anti-Jaynes-Cummings models via parametric modulation of cyclic qutrit
2019
We study a circuit QED setup involving a single cavity mode and a cyclic qutrit whose parameters are time modulated externally. It is shown that in the dispersive regime this system behaves as a versatile platform to implement effective $n$-photon Jaynes-Cummings (JC) and anti-Jaynes-Cummings (AJC) models by suitably setting the modulation frequency. The atomic levels and the cavity Fock states involved in the effective Hamiltonians can be controlled through adjustment of the system parameters, and different JC and AJC interactions can be implemented simultaneously using multitone modulations. Moreover, one can implement some models that go beyond simple JC and AJC-like interaction, such as…
The Fock Bundle of a Dirac Operator and Infinite Grassmannians
1989
In the earlier chapters we have studied representations of current algebras in fermionic Fock spaces. A (fermionic) Fock space is determined by a single Dirac operator D. To set up a Fock space we need a splitting of a complex Hilbert space H to the subspaces H± corresponding to positive and negative frequencies of D. However, in an interacting quantum field theory one really should consider a bundle of Fock spaces parametrized by different Dirac operators. For example, in Yang-Mills theory any smooth vector potential defines a Dirac operator and one must consider the whole bunch of these operators and associated Fock spaces if one wants to describe the interaction of the vector potential w…
Proposal of a Computational Approach for Simulating Thermal Bosonic Fields in Phase Space
2019
When a quantum field is in contact with a thermal bath, the vacuum state of the field may be generalized to a thermal vacuum state, which takes into account the thermal noise. In thermo field dynamics, this is realized by doubling the dimensionality of the Fock space of the system. Interestingly, the representation of thermal noise by means of an augmented space is also found in a distinctly different approach based on the Wigner transform of both the field operators and density matrix, which we pursue here. Specifically, the thermal noise is introduced by augmenting the classical-like Wigner phase space by means of Nosé
