Potential of the EPA/DHA 6/1 formulation to prevent endothelial dysfunction and cardiopulmonary remodeling in pulmonary arterial hypertension in rats
2016
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is characterized by remodeling of the small pulmonary arteries leading to a progressive increase in pulmonary vascular resistance and right ventricular failure. Pulmonary endothelial dysfunction, inflammation and oxidative stress promote the development of pulmonary hypertension. Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acids (DHA) have been shown to protect the cardiovascular system and reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. The present study evaluate the potential of EPA:DHA 6:1 to prevent monocrotaline-induced PAH in rats. EPA:DHA 6:1 treatment (500 mg/kg/d, p.o) prevented the MCT-induced mean pul…
Evolutionary and developmental hypotheses in rodent dentition through time : the adaptive radiation of Arvicolinae (Rodentia)
2014
The evolution of mammalian dentition is defined by profound morphological modifications as occlusion and heterodonty. Among rodents, characterized by a reduced dental formula, arvicolines have a highly derived dentition, with prismatic and hypsodont molars. The aim of this Ph.D thesis is to explore various morphological innovations through developmental and adaptive aspects. Geometric morphometric methods were used on molars, incisors and mandibles to investigate the dynamics of development and evolution of dentition. A developmental model predicting molar proportions is tested and confirmed for the rodent order; it could be also extended to the premolar. The relationship between dental mor…
Structures optiques dissipatives en cavité laser à fibre
2011
This thesis presents a study of the nonlinear dissipative dynamics of localized of self organized structures in passively mode-locked fiber laser through nonlinear polarization evolution. We reveal the existence of a gradual transition from the quasi-cw to mode locked dynamics in the multi-pulsing regime. We emphasize on the intermediate state, where various new dynamics are observed. We study collective behaviors of dissipative solitons in the presence of a continuous background. One of the complex and attractive dynamics presented is the "soliton rain", which composed of three field components : continuous modes of background, drifting of solitons and condensed phase solitons. This dynami…

New nanobiohybrid engineering composed of titanate nanoribbons for regenerative medicine
2012
This research work is devoted to new nanohybrid engineering composed of titanate nanoribbons for regenerative medicine. Over a first phase, nanoribbons were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment and their morphological, structural and chemical features were defined. A fine characterization by means of different techniques of transmission electron microscopy mainly enabled to determine their thickness; dimension which had never been measured so far. Subsequently, titanate nanoribbons were functionalized by different home-made heterobifunctional PEG. Those polymers present at one of their extremities specific functional groups being able to couple with numerous biological molecules. Some coll…

Préparation et spéciation d’oxo-clusters de métaux du bloc p
2022
The main subject of this thesis is the use of Pair Distribution Function (PDF) analysis for solution phase speciation during metal-cluster growth. The PDF method allows the extraction of structural information from a sample in the form of an atom-atom distance distribution via Fourier transform of synchrotron X-ray scattering data. The growth mechanisms of two solution-based systems are analysed in this thesis. Precursor materials are synthesized through a mechanochemical method that was developed and shown to be able to access a wide range of related systems.Mechanochemical routes of synthesizing bismuth Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) were investigated and optimised. Samples were…

Synthesis of ortho-fonctionnalized arylphosphines and their applications
2020
This thesis reports with the synthesis of ortho-functionnalized phosphines bearing phosphonium and 1,2,3-triazole moieties. The synthesis of phosphines-phosphoniums, using as key-step Phospha-Fries rearrangement and Appel reaction is described. Eight new phosphines- phosphoniums, bearing aryl, alkyl or ferrocenyl fragments on the phosphonium part, have been prepared with overall yields reaching 48%. These phosphines- phosphoniums have been used in the preparation of gold (I) complexes which have been characterized using spectroscopic methods and X ray diffraction. Both gold (I) complexes and phosphines-phosphoniums have been studied in biology and these compounds turned out to be cytotoxic i…
