Pre-operative diclofenac HPβCD for pain control of needle biopsy in musculoskeletal neoplasm: preliminary results.

Needle biopsy is the main standard method used for diagnosis of musculoskeletal tumors of the limbs and superficial trunk. Pain control during this procedure is through the use of Local Anaestetic (L.A.). In order to achieve a complete pain control in our cases, recently we started using diclofenac HPβCD 50 mg via s.c. preoperativly. Abstract Introduction Caesarean section is the most common abdominal surgery performed on women worldwide. Adhesions represent a severe complication of cesarean section and can cause different degrees of bowel obstruction. Case reports We report two unusual cases of small bowel obstruction treated with laparoscopic approach after caesarean section performed for gynecological pathologies. In the embryo, Eustachian valve is a crescent-shaped membrane extending from the lower margin of the inferior vena cava and the ostium of the coronary sinus into the right atrium toward fossa ovalis and tricuspid valve. At birth, after the functional closure of the foramen ovale, the Eustachian valve loses its function, reducing to an embryo remnant. According to growing evidence, a persistent Eustachian valve is a frequent finding in patients with a patent foramen ovale (PFO). By directing the blood from the inferior cava to the interatrial septum, it may prevent the spontaneous closure of PFO after birth and indirectly predispose to paradoxical embolism. Interneta ziņu avotiem ir svarīga nozīme, jo tie ietekmē lasītāju uzskatus par ārvalstīs notiekošo, savukārt metafora ir noderīgs līdzeklis sensitīvu un strīdīgu jautājumu atspoguļošanā tās tēlainā un interpretējošā rakstura dēļ. Šis bakalaura darbs pēta, kā metaforas tiek lietotas ziņu rakstos par neseno Latvijas banku skandālu ar mērķi noteikt izmantoto metaforu funkcijas. Literatūras apskats satur materiālus par metaforu, tās funkcijām un to pielietojumu finanšu ziņu kontekstā. Veiktā kritiskā diskursa analīze, kas aplūkoja metaforu funkcijas kontekstā, atklāja, ka visbiežāk metaforas lietotas, lai paskaidrotu sarežģītus konceptus, kā arī, lai sekmētu to iegaumējamību. Maģistra darbā ir pētītas metaforas par Eiropas Savienību laikrakstā “Diena” no 2015. gada 1.janvāra līdz 30. jūnijam – Latvijas prezidentūras Eiropas Savienības padomē laikā, nolūkā izzināt metaforu lietojuma praksi drukātajā medijā un biežāk sastopamos metaforu izmantojuma gadījumus un īpatnības. Darba teorētisko daļu veido Džordža Leikofa (George Lakoff) radītās konceptuālās metaforu teorijas apskats, un citu autoru, kuru pētījumu objekts ir metafora, iebildumi Leikofa teorijai. This paper is a report that concerns two experiments that I proposed in nine secondary school classes (pupils from fourteen to eighteen years old) in order to test some hypotesis concerning the use of metaphor during teaching-learning processes. I begin by analyzing the different significances of the concepts of metaphor and analogy that can be found in literature. Then I try to frame these concepts within the framework of semiotic mediation. I show some excerpts taken from the experimentations, and I try to interpret some of pupil’s utterances (words, gestures) as metaphors which offer to the teacher a possible way (by analogies) to introduce mathematical contents.
