Minimal Forbidden Factors of Circular Words
2017
Minimal forbidden factors are a useful tool for investigating properties of words and languages. Two factorial languages are distinct if and only if they have different (antifactorial) sets of minimal forbidden factors. There exist algorithms for computing the minimal forbidden factors of a word, as well as of a regular factorial language. Conversely, Crochemore et al.ÃÂ [IPL, 1998] gave an algorithm that, given the trie recognizing a finite antifactorial language M, computes a DFA of the language having M as set of minimal forbidden factors. In the same paper, they showed that the obtained DFA is minimal if the input trie recognizes the minimal forbidden factors of a single word. We gener…
Food waste and out-of-home-dining: antecedents and consequents of the decision to take away leftovers after dining at restaurants
2021
The rising trend of eating out has contributed noticeably to the increase in food waste generated by the hospitality sector. Therefore, it is essential to understand the drivers of food waste generation and the mitigation intentions of diners. Academic research in the area so far is fragmented, with particularly limited insights regarding the intentions to take away leftovers after dining out. The present study addresses this gap by using the theoretical lens of Behavioural Reasoning Theory (BRT) to examine the antecedents of diners' intentions to take away leftovers and how these are associated with their food over-ordering and leftover reuse routine. The hypothesised associations are test…
Behavioral reasoning perspectives to brand love toward natural products: Moderating role of environmental concern and household size
2021
Abstract Consumers do not easily trust brands’ claims of naturalness, making it essential to understand the drivers of loyalty and the underlying brand love for such products. Responding to this need, the present study developed a conceptual model based on the Behavioral Reasoning Theory (BRT) to examine the antecedents of brand love. The model was tested using data collected through a cross-sectional survey. The findings suggest that health consciousness is positively associated with reasons for consuming natural products and attitude, which, in turn, are also positively associated with each other. At the same time, reasons for consuming natural products and attitude are positively associa…
Purchasing natural personal care products in the era of fake news? The moderation effect of brand trust
2021
Natural personal care products are gaining popularity due to their benefits in terms of health and well-being. However, consumers are wary of these products and are guided by the fake news circulating about them. Since natural product consumption offers several personal and environmental benefits, it would be worthwhile to understand consumers’ tendency to let fake news influence their consumption decisions. Accordingly, the current study examined the association of fake news and purchasing behaviour towards natural personal care products, utilising Stimulus-Organism-Behaviour-Consequence (SOBC) as the theoretical framework. The study proposed openness to change as the stimulus, perceived b…
Why do people purchase from food delivery apps? A consumer value perspective
2021
Consumers are increasingly using food delivery apps (FDAs) to facilitate convenient and quick food delivery. Yet, the existing research offers a limited understanding of consumers’ behavioral responses to the visibility and values derived from FDAs. Our study utilized the theory of consumption values (TCV) to examine associations between FDA visibility, consumption values, and purchase intentions. The mediating role of consumption values and the moderating role of attitude was also studied. A qualitative study was conducted with 15 FDA consumers to derive context-specific consumption values. Responses from 355 FDA consumers from the United States of America (USA) were obtained through Proli…
Electron spectra in forbidden β decays and the quenching of the weak axial-vector coupling constant gA
2017
Evolution of the electron spectra with the effective value of the weak axial-vector coupling constant ${g}_{\mathrm{A}}$ was followed for 26 first-, second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-forbidden ${\ensuremath{\beta}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays of odd-$A$ nuclei by calculating the involved nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) in the framework of the microscopic quasiparticle-phonon model (MQPM). The next-to-leading-order terms were included in the $\ensuremath{\beta}$-decay shape factor of the electron spectra. The spectrum shapes of third- and fourth-forbidden nonunique decays were found to depend strongly on the value of ${g}_{\mathrm{A}}$, while first- and second-forbidden decays were mostly unaff…
Measurement and interpretation of the polarization of the x-ray line emission of heliumlike Fe XXV excited by an electron beam
1996
The linear polarization of the 1s2p${\mathrm{}}^{1}$${\mathit{P}}_{1}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}1${\mathit{s}}^{2}$${\mathrm{}}^{1}$${\mathit{S}}_{0}$ resonance line, the 1s2p${\mathrm{}}^{3}$${\mathit{P}}_{1,2}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}1${\mathit{s}}^{2}$${\mathrm{}}^{1}$${\mathit{S}}_{0}$ intercombination lines, and the 1s2s${\mathrm{}}^{3}$${\mathit{S}}_{1}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}1${\mathit{s}}^{2}$${\mathrm{}}^{1}$${\mathit{S}}_{0}$ forbidden line was measured in heliumlike Fe XXV excited near threshold by a monoenergetic electron beam. The measurement was carried out with a high-resolution x-ray spectrometer employing a set of two analyzing crystals that acted as polarizers by selectivel…
Spin-dipole nuclear matrix elements for double beta decays and astro-neutrinos
2014
Spin-dipole (SD) nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) M±(SD2) for unique first forbidden β±2−→0+ ground-state-to-ground-state transitions are studied by using effective microscopic two-nucleon interactions in realistic single-particle model spaces. The observed values of the NMEs Mexp±(SD2) are compared with the values of the single-quasiparticle NMEs Mqp±(SD2) without nucleon spin–isospin (στ) correlation and the QRPA NMEs MQRPA±(SD2) with the στ correlation. The observed SD matrix elements are found to be reduced by the factor k≈0.2 with respect to Mqp±(SD2) and by the factor kNM≈0.5 with respect to MQRPA±(SD2). We then infer that the SD NME is reduced considerably partly by the nucleon στ corr…
X-rays from accretion shocks in T Tauri stars: The case of BP Tau
2005
We present an XMM-Newton observation of the classical T Tauri star BP Tau. In the XMM-Newton RGS spectrum the O {\sc vii} triplet is clearly detected with a very weak forbidden line indicating high plasma densities and/or a high UV flux environment. At the same time concurrent UV data point to a small hot spot filling factor suggesting an accretion funnel shock as the site of the X-ray and UV emission. Together with the X-ray data on TW Hya these new observations suggest such funnels to be a general feature in classical T Tauri stars.
