Matrical carcinoma with prominent melanocytic hyperplasia (malignant melanocytic matricoma?) A report of two cases.

Melanocytic matricoma is a recently described lesion characterized by well-circumscribed nodules composed of matrical and supramatrical cells with clustered ghost cells, and admixed pigmented dendritic melanocytes, with no cyst formation or connection to the epidermis or pre-existing hair follicles. Although variable cytologic atypia and frequent mitoses in the epithelial component may be present, given the well-defined margins and absence of tumor recurrences, these lesions were initially considered benign neoplasms, and not matrical carcinoma. Abstract Aim The primary goal of this study was to estimate the prevalence of pressure ulcers in the paediatric population cared for in primary health care. Materials The data of this epidemiological study were extracted from the records of the 24 departments that attended to an approximate population of 1 million inhabitants between 0 and 18 years old from 2012 to 2015. The study included children requiring assistance to reduce pressure ulcer incidence. The paediatric population was categorised into neonates and infants (0–2 years), young child (3–6 years), child (7–12 years) and adolescents (13–18 years). PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to explore the cutaneous vascularization of the hypothenar region and investigate the anatomical basis for perforator propeller flaps for coverage of the flexor aspect of the little finger. METHODS: The area between the pisiform and the base of the little finger was studied in 14 hands of fresh cadavers injected with red latex. An oval flap 1.5 cm large was raised along the axis between these two points. This article compares the gender and health politics of the German and the French medical professions, which incorporated military command structures into their civilian self-conception. Mobilized doctors committed themselves to the new circumstances and opportunities offered by the war. They applied the established military spatial ‘map’ which distinguished between the male-dominated front and the female-dominated home front and turned it into an epidemiological map, identifying danger zones which arose from points of contact between men and women. Mitochondrial myopathy--a result of clofibrate/etofibrate treatment? Case report.

A 66-year-old man had developed a myopathy while undergoing several periods of etofibrate and clofibrate therapy over the past 5 years. Discontinuation of etofibrate treatment failed to reverse his muscle illness which, however, did not progress. A muscle biopsy revealed a chronic myopathy marked by abundant, abnormally structured muscle mitochondria. His mitochondrial myopathy may represent a forme fruste of the Kearns-Sayre syndrome or other types of mitochondrial myopathy, clinically made evident by the etofibrate/clofibrate therapy, or a permanent, adverse side effect of clofibrate treatment. Quite often, especially in the absence of a known history of trauma, minor head injuries, which are no longer verifiable, are simply assumed to be the most likely causes. The localization in the superior cervical ganglia (SCG) of small, intensely fluorescent (SIF) cells and of principal nerve (PN) cells innervating the pineal gland was examined in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. PN cells were demonstrated by means of the retrograde neuron-tracing method using the fluorescent tracer Fluoro-Gold (FG) injected into the pineal gland. SIF cells were visualized by the formaldehyde-induced fluorescence method. Twenty-nine percent of the FG-labeled PN cells were found closely associated with SIF cells.
