We discuss a non linear extension of a model of alliances in politics, recently proposed by one of us. The model is constructed in terms of operators, describing the \emph{interest} of three parties to form, or not, some political alliance with the other parties. Microcanonical foundation of nonextensivity and generalized thermostatistics based on the fractality of the phase space

We develop a generalized theory of (meta)equilibrium statistical mechanics in the thermodynamic limit valid for both smooth and fractal phase spaces. In the former case, our approach leads naturally to Boltzmann-Gibbs standard thermostatistics while, in the latter, Tsallis thermostatistics is straightforwardly obtained as the most appropriate formalism. We first focus on the microcanonical ensemble stressing the importance of the limit $t \to \infty$ on the form of the microcanonical measure. Interestingly, this approach leads to interpret the entropic index $q$ as the box-counting dimension of the (microcanonical) phase space when fractality is considered.
Contour calculus for many-particle functions

In non-equilibrium many-body perturbation theory, Langreth rules are an efficient way to extract real-time equations from contour ones. However, the standard rules are not applicable in cases that do not reduce to simple convolutions and multiplications. We introduce a procedure for extracting real-time equations from general multi-argument contour functions with an arbitrary number of arguments. This is done for both the standard Keldysh contour, as well as the extended contour with a vertical track that allows for general initial states. Partial inner product spaces, metric operators and generalized hermiticity

Motivated by the recent developments of pseudo-hermitian quantum mechanics, we analyze the structure of unbounded metric operators in a Hilbert space. It turns out that such operators generate a canonical lattice of Hilbert spaces, that is, the simplest case of a partial inner product space (PIP space). Next, we introduce several generalizations of the notion of similarity between operators and explore to what extend they preserve spectral properties. Then we apply some of the previous results to operators on a particular PIP space, namely, a scale of Hilbert spaces generated by a metric operator. Finally, we reformulate the notion of pseudo-hermitian operators in the preceding formalism.
Genericity of dimension drop on self-affine sets

We prove that generically, for a self-affine set in $\mathbb{R}^d$, removing one of the affine maps which defines the set results in a strict reduction of the Hausdorff dimension. This gives a partial positive answer to a folklore open question.
Reflections towards a generative theory of musical parallelism

Parallelism plays a core role in Lerdahl and Jackendoff's (1983) GTTM, as it rules the emergence of motivic, metrical, grouping and even formal structures. Due to the high amount of detail and complexity characterising associational structures, neither explicit model nor systematic methodology of parallelism-based structural inference has been included into the GTTM. In this paper I put forward some arguments in defence of inclusive legal positivism. The general thesis that I defend is that inclusive positivism represents a more fruitful and interesting research program than that proposed by exclusive positivism. I introduce two arguments connected with legal interpretation in favour of my thesis. However, my opinion is that inclusive positivism does not sufficiently succeed in estranging itself from the more traditional legal positivist conceptions. High-resolution far-infrared synchrotron FTIR spectroscopy and analysis of the ν 7 , ν 19 and ν 20 bands of trioxane

Rovibrational bands spectra of three ν20, ν7 and ν19 bands of 1, 3, 5 – trioxane (H2CO)3 were recorded in the 50–650 cm−1 range using a long path absorption cell coupled to a high resolution Fourier transform spectrometer and synchrotron radiation at the AILES beamline of the SOLEIL synchrotron. More than 16 000 lines were assigned with a dRMS better than 0.17 × 10−3 cm−1. Two different formalisms (tensorial and Watson) were used to derive accurate rotational and quartic parameters for the three bands and for the first time, a precise determination of Coriolis parameter and q+ l−doubling constant for both ν20 and ν19 perpendicular bands was obtained.
