Professionals' Views on the Comparatively Low Prevalence of Intimate Partner Violence Against Women in Spain.

The aim of this study was to understand the reasons why Spain has one of the lowest prevalence rates of intimate partner violence against women (IPVAW) in the European Union. Using a qualitative and inductive research approach, a total of five focus groups ( n = 19) and 10 unstructured interviews with key informants were conducted. Three main categories were identified as possible explanations of the relatively low prevalence of IPVAW in Spain: law and policy, social awareness, and cultural patterns. Lessons learned and implications to improve future macrolevel intervention and prevention strategies are discussed.

Skotijas vēsture un pašreizējie apstākļi ir multilingvāli un tur lietotā angļu valoda atšķiras no citur lietotajām angļu valodas paveidiem ar tās izrunas modeli. Šī darba mērķis ir patskaņu izpēte skotu standarta angļu valodā, lai raksturotu tās patskaņu sistēmu salīdzinājumā ar standarta britu angļu valodu un novērotu kādas iespējamās līdzības. Šī mērķa sasniegšanai izmantotā metode ir patskaņu formantu akustiskā kvantitatīvā analīze, kurai paraugi ņemti no Skotu Tekstu un Runas Korpusa (Scottish Corpus of Texts&Speech). La campagne DRADEM s’est déroulée du 9 au 21 Juillet 2016 à bord du Pourquoi Pas ?, dans les zones économique exclusives du Suriname et de la Guyane. Cette campagne s’inscrit dans un programme d’étude géologique du plateau de Demerara, dans la suite des campagnes GUYAPLAC (2003), IGUANES (2013), et avant MARGATS (2016). In order to establish a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), assessment by different informants is required. Sometimes, however, there are certain discrepancies between evaluators. With the aim of shedding light on possible discrepancies between informants, this work includes an updated review of the literature to examine the degree of agreement between different informants regarding the characteristic symptomatology of ASD in children and adolescents (up to 17 years of age). In vowel discrimination, commonly found discrimination patterns are directional asymmetries where discrimination is faster (or easier) if differing vowels are presented in a certain sequence compared to the reversed sequence. Different models of speech sound processing try to account for these asymmetries based on either phonetic or phonological properties. In this study, we tested and compared two of those often-discussed models, namely the Featurally Underspecified Lexicon (FUL) model (Lahiri and Reetz, 2002) and the Natural Referent Vowel (NRV) framework (Polka and Bohn, 2011).
