Inverse Malthusianism and Recycling Economics: The Case of the Textile Industry

The current use of natural resources in the textile industry leads us to introduce a new economic concept called inverse Malthusianism describing a context in which population grows linearly and resource consumption grows exponentially. Inverse Malthusianism implies an exponential increase in environmental impact that recycling may contribute to reduce. Our main goal is to extend the analysis of materials selection under the principle of equimarginality proposed by Jevons. As a first result, we show the particular circumstances under which policies excluding recycled supplies are never optimal. Although the field of learning automata (LA) has made significant progress in the past four decades, the LA-based methods to tackle problems involving environments with a large number of actions is, in reality, relatively unresolved. The extension of the traditional LA to problems within this domain cannot be easily established when the number of actions is very large. This is because the dimensionality of the action probability vector is correspondingly large, and so, most components of the vector will soon have values that are smaller than the machine accuracy permits, implying that they will never be chosen . Using logical clauses to represent patterns, Tsetlin Machine (TM) have recently obtained competitive performance in terms of accuracy, memory footprint, energy, and learning speed on several benchmarks. Each TM clause votes for or against a particular class, with classification resolved using a majority vote. While the evaluation of clauses is fast, being based on binary operators, the voting makes it necessary to synchronize the clause evaluation, impeding parallelization. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme for desynchronizing the evaluation of clauses, eliminating the voting bottleneck. Este artículo estudia el diseño retórico de la ?Canción al Oro? del poeta sevillano Juan de Jáuregui y rastrea los textos de Séneca que pudieron inspirarle, así como otros pertenecientes a Horacio, Virgilio y Ovidio, conforme a la práctica renacentista de la imitatio. Entre las formas líricas y retóricas que se reconocen destacan el himno, la priamel y el epichirema, y en lo referente a las fuentes primarias se concluye que las Epistulae morales y el tratado De beneficiis de Séneca tuvieron un papel relevante.

Este trabajo estudia cómo la figura bíblica del Buen Pastor vertebra las diversas reformas del siglo XVI, tanto las católicas como las protestantes. En general, se atiende a la utopía titulada Omníbona y a las fuentes que podrían haber incidido en su creación. This paper examines how the biblical figure of the Good Shepherd is the backbone of the various reforms of the sixteenth century, both Catholic and Protestant.
