Methods of Digital Hilbert Optics in the Analysis and Objects’ Recognition

This paper describes methods on how to increase the effectiveness of objects’ pictures identification based on correlation methods. The main concept of increasing the discriminant effectiveness is based on highlighting of characteristic points of recognized objects by applying Hilbert transformations. Disorder and interactions in systems out of equilibrium : the exact independent-particle picture from density functional theory

2017

Density functional theory (DFT) exploits an independent-particle-system construction to replicate the densities and current of an interacting system. This construction is used here to access the exact effective potential and bias of non-equilibrium systems with disorder and interactions. Our results show that interactions smoothen the effective disorder landscape, but do not necessarily increase the current, due to the competition of disorder screening and effective bias. This puts forward DFT as a diagnostic tool to understand disorder screening in a wide class of interacting disordered systems.

A search for supersymmetry (SUSY) in events with large missing transverse momentum, jets, and at least one hadronically decaying τ lepton, with zero or one additional light lepton (e/μ), has been performed using 4.7 fb[superscript −1] of proton-proton collision data at √s = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No excess above the Standard Model background expectation is observed and a 95 % confidence level visible cross-sectionupper limit for new phenomena is set. In the framework of gauge-mediated SUSY-breaking models, lower limits on the mass scale Λ are set at 54 TeV in the regions where the [bar over τ]1 is the next-to-lightest SUSY particle (tanβ > 20). …

Two subgroups A and B of a group G are said to be totally completely conditionally permutable (tcc-permutable) in G if X permutes with Yg for some g ¿ ¿X, Y¿ for all X ¿ A and Y ¿ B. Abstract For a non-empty class of groups C , two subgroups A and B of a group G are said to be C -connected if 〈 a , b 〉 ∈ C for all a ∈ A and b ∈ B . Given two sets π and ρ of primes, S π S ρ denotes the class of all finite soluble groups that are extensions of a normal π-subgroup by a ρ-group. It is shown that in a finite group G = A B , with A and B soluble subgroups, then A and B are S π S ρ -connected if and only if O ρ ( B ) centralizes A O π ( G ) / O π ( G ) , O ρ ( A ) centralizes B O π ( G ) / O π ( G ) and G ∈ S π ∪ ρ . An eye tracking comparison of external pointing cues and internal continuous cues in learning with complex animations

Abstract Two experiments used eye tracking to investigate a novel cueing approach for directing learner attention to low salience, high relevance aspects of a complex animation. In the first experiment, comprehension of a piano mechanism animation containing spreading-colour cues was compared with comprehension obtained with arrow cues or no cues. Eye tracking data revealed differences in learner attention patterns between the different experimental conditions.
